She had just recently arrived, she was much excited by the permission of the king to join this trip. Hopefully somebody from the castle had sent word ahead that she, as new ambassador was coming here to live and help build relationships. If not, it would be much great embarrassment to explain the situation she was given over and over, she wasn't sure she was prepared for that. If anything bad similar to that was to happen, it wouldn't help relations between worlds and people at all.
Walking further and further from her drop off, as soon as the Gummi ship had left, she looked around taking in all the sights. The air smelled so fresh, so clean, it was nothing like the dirty dust books of the Castle library back home. The grass such a bright color green, almost living on the legendary source of happiness and life. She felt much jealousy toward this perfect world keybladers call home, how did they get to be chosen to live in such a happy place?
She as a princess never leaving the castle, never even trained in arts of physical combat understood nothing of what keybladers really had to go through. All she knew were of the legends of the great keybladers who fight to protect the light, how they succeed in bringing worlds to peace. How her people and the keybladers relations over the years seemed to have gradually tarnished, though no reason was really given. She as now princess ambassador hoped to live among the keybladers to help rebuild this relation, and most important better understand those considered "heroes".
Deep down she hoped something in the other worlds, or some of the keyblade wielders will be able to find a cure for her scaly face. Something that she actually hid under make-up, that she planned to keep secret except from the Keyblade master. For if anyone knew of the "boa's curse" it would be he. Walking further down the path, she soon realize she did not even know where the training grounds were... or the castle, hell her gummi transport just randomly dropped her off. Probably hoping she died searching or some nonsense. "Hello? Hello? Anyone there?"

lara sheathed her sword, enjoying the sound of the scraping metal. today was a rest day. no combat training. no spell practice. not formal practice anyway. as soon as the sun had come up, lara slipped out of the castle and struck out for the outer reaches of the Land of Departure. rest days meant rare time to herself, away from orders and polished floor tiles and stuffy apprentices. she breathed in her freedom like cool, fresh air. she wasn't ungrateful for the chance she had been given: as a matter of fact, she trained hard, enjoyed the challenge, and was determined not to waste the second chance that she'd been given. but sometimes... all the orders and structure felt too... restrictive.
lara had spent most of the day exploring the Land of departure, and honing her magical skills. she had taken her sword along mostly because she liked wearing it. it reminded her of the mythic heros that her grandmother had told her as a child, or sung to her on long evenings by the fireside. for a second, lara remembered the wavering, lilting sound of her voice, and firelight on frost-covered windows. pausing to admire the view, lara noticed a gummi ship flying away. huh. curiosity peaked, lara set off toward the place the ship had departed from. what was a gummi ship doing way out here? drawing near, lara noticed a stranger, a girl with long dark hair, standing alone.
"hello? hello? anyone there?"
so... did anybody know this girl was coming? and who the heck was her pilot? moron. dumping his passenger in the middle of nowhere... or at least, as close to the middle of nowhere as you could get in the Land of Departure. "hey!" lara waded through the grass, waving cheerfully. the girl looked lost and maybe a little lonely. whoever this was, somebody should make her feel welcome. "i'm lara. i train up at the castle. what's your name?" sticking out her hand, she added, "that gummi ship dropped you off, right? i've never seen you around."

A voice from the opposite direction sounded, causing the black hair princess to turn around. The owner of the voice was a red hair young women who said her name was "lara" and that she trained over in the castle. This information from the voice made the princess felt better, good someone had found her. "It-its Princess Trinity Mouser from the Yindse Castle world, I was sent here with a quest by the King."
The princess gave a slight nod to the girl wondering if she was one of the legendary chosen keybladers. "Ar-are you one of them?" she paused then realized that them could mean a lot of things quickly she finished her words. "One, one of the legendary Keyblade wielders?"
Taking a moment she looked around at the scenery, "Is this world always like this? So beautiful and bright? I have never seen anything like it." She quickly took a large breath enjoying the various scents she had never smelled before, living in a library this place was a blessing.

"It-its Princess Trinity Mouser from the Yindse Castle world, I was sent here with a quest by the King." The girl nodded.
Oh. Lara withdrew her hand, feeling a little awkward. She really hadn't expected this girl to be royalty (assuming that she wasn't lying... which seemed unlikely). Didn't princesses usually wear crowns or silk dresses or gems? Something. Lara wondered if she was expected to bow or curtsy. Maybe it was protocol where Princess Trinity Mouser came from, but bowing to anyone but the Master really wasn't Lara's style. Instead, she put her hands on her hips and gave the stranger a bright, welcoming smile.
"Ar-are you one of them?" Lara quirked an eyebrow and wondered what this new girl was talking about. "One, one of the legendary Keyblade wielders?"
Lara laughed. "Oh, that's what you meant. No. I wield this," she said, lightly patting the sword on her hip, "My apprenticeship doesn't cover keyblade wielding: just magic and some less flashy combat skills. You'll meet some legends soon, though. Your Majestly," Lara added. Somehow, the title felt completely out of place when she said it. Maybe because she tacked it on as an awkward attempt at being respectful. The closest she had ever come to dealing with royalty was daydreaming about cutting their purses.
"Is this world always like this? So beautiful and bright? I have never seen anything like it." Lara looked around at the sky, the vibrant fields and stands of rich foilage. "It is. Maybe not always this bright, but, never less beautiful. Come on, I'll take you up to the castle. Then you'll get a proper greeting."
As she turned to lead the Princess through the Land of Departure, Lara couldn't help but think about what she had seen and heard. Did no one know this princess was coming? What quest was she talking about? Why hadn't the Gummi ship dropped her off at the castle, or made sure some official was there to greet Trinity? Huh. Glancing back over her shoulder, Lara paused to wait for the Princess. She seemed... kind. Shy. Maybe a little self-conscious, but certainly not stuck up or snotty. There was something sweet about the way she drank in the sunlight and color around her. Lara nodded to herself. She liked this Trinity person.
Something had peaked Lara's curiosity: "So... Princess... you said you've never seen anything like this. What is your home world like?"

The women gave a hearty laugh then informed the princess she was actually wielding a sword. That her apprenticeship didn't cover keyblade wielding rather just basic magic and combat skills. Trinity looked down at the sword with wide eyes of curiosity, this person, a girl was allowed to practice wielding swords? Was allowed to break from her womanly duties?
The girl explained that Trinity would certainly meet some legends soon enough, then ended her words awkwardly with "majesty" Barely catching it, Trinity gave a small kind smile, "You uhh don't have to call me, your majesty. I am here as your equal, just call me Trinity" she gave out her hand in greeting, a gesture she subconsciously wondered was greeting here in this world, was beginning to second guess the gesture. Did they maybe have some odd ritual of greeting?
Lara began to ask a question, as to how Trinity's world was like. Trinity paused a moment thinking past all the boring dust to the more exciting parts. "I-it was rather small, I mostly lived in the library helping out. What I had seen was cobblestone streets leading to the many nice small homes filled with happy people. The castle itself was a large grey stone castle kept warm all winter long by a large fire. The gardens were the biggest you could see, but they were always the same, caged" She paused believing she really hadn't given much description of her home, she looked down at the ground in embarrassment her cheeks turning bit red, "I-I never really got to venture very far from the castle, I'm sorry" This statement made her realize how awful she probably made her home sound like, how she was making her own homeworld sound awful.
What a terrible terrible way to start as an ambassador, it was her job to make her world sound wonderful enough to keep alive and well. She quickly faked a big smile, sadness still slightly littering her eyes "Everything is so wonderful there. Lots of collected knowledge in the library, the food ever so merry and bright, then the people... The people.." she began to wonder too deep into her own memories, recalling all the times they whispered "monster", "wrench" behind her back. She did not want to talk about any of this, none at all.
She quickly changed the subject, "Were you born and raised here? How does this place work? Is there servants here to help get you dressed, make your food, or clean your rooms?"

"You uhh don't have to call me, you majesty..."
well that was a relief. chances were, lara would have forgotten about keeping that up anyway.
"I-it was rather small, I mostly lived in the library helping out...The gardens were the biggest you could see, but they were always the same, caged. I-I never really got to venture very far from the castle, I'm sorry"
then she dropped the subject. lara could see the blush of red on her cheeks as she let slip that her childhood was less than happy, less than free. it must have been embarassing for her: she probably felt like she was making her family look bad. but the truth was the truth: even ambassadors couldn't duck away from that. "you've got no reason to be sorry," lara replied, bluntly.
yeah. lara knew a fake smile when she saw one, and trinity's was one of the fakest she'd seen. if "fakest" was a word. it probably wasn't. "everything is so wonderful there. lots of collected knowledge in the library, the food ever so merry and bright, then the people... the people.." trinity's voice seemed to fade. lara looked at her companion, waiting and wondering what was going on in the princess's head. lara felt a surge of empathy, of sympathy. a cage. there were few things that lara hated more than being confined, being controlled. she wanted to put her arm around trinity's shoulder, just to show her some camaraderie, but it seemed like it might not be the best idea. trinity probably wasn't used to being treated with such familiarity.
suddenly, the conversation shifted. "were you born and raised here? how does this place work? is there servants here to help get you dressed, make your food, or clean your rooms?"
everything trinity did gave lara glimpses of suppressed unhappiness. when the subject abruptly changed, lara didn't pry or ask questions. she understood. she understood wanting to let your past stay in the past. understood how tough it was to acknowledge a miserable youth.
"no, i wasn't born and raised here in the Land of Departure... my grandmother and i were refugees in Traverse Town. I... spent most of my life there. This place has only been home for a few years." there was a small, somber pause. then, lara continued in a cheerful voice, "well, as for how this place works: the keyblade masters are the people we apprentices have to answer to. they train us, tell us what to do, assign missions. We don't really have servants: I mean, there are people who cook for us and clean the main halls, but nobody gets a personal servant. And we have to keep our own rooms clean. Things might be different for you, though, since you're a royal guest. " For a few minutes, Lara walked on without speaking. Then, when they mounted the crest of a small hill, she pointed to a pillar of stone, and the white walls of the castle glimmering in the sunlight. "See? There it is: home sweet home." For a minute she watched Trinity, curious to see her reaction. Then she impulsively said, "You should watch a training session sometime. I don't know if the keybladers would allow it, but I wouldn't mind. Keyblade duels are a little more fun to watch than regular sword-duels, but only by a little bit."

She glade-fully listened to lara's story, she had many questions, such as "what does traverse town look like? in the books described as dark" or "Missions? what are those?" Before she could ask any of her many many curious questions they had arrived to the main castle. It looks so much prettier in person than it did in book descriptions.
Excited she placed both her hands together, sparkle eyed staring at it. She wanted to go in so badly, how much a blessing they let her take a quest here! Finally something meaningful in her life, why did she not think to do this so many years ago?
"it is so beautiful, nothing like the books described could give it justice." she walked up to the nearest white wall, ran her fingers over the smooth almost perfect surface, "such amazing architecture, whoever made this must be highly talented!" she gave a small laugh from the sheer enjoyment of this new future right in front of her.
The red-head offered for trinity to visit the training session, though she was unsure if Trinity would be allowed. "If they let me, i would happily love to see. Do you think, maybe, just maybe... They would let me sword fight? I always wanted to try it, but nobody wanted to train me." She could not hide the hope in her voice.

Train, Train, Train. That was all he did. And yet he was still not improving on his skills. The darkness within his own heart continued to get in his way. He didn't know how to get rid of the darkness. It was nearly impossible for him to do so.
Will I be trapped like this forever? He thought to himself as he floated on his staff down toward the Castle. That was when he noticed the two ladies talking down by the steps up to the door. He landed on the roof of a nearby structure and listened from above.
The one lady was the red head that he'd seen prancing around the Castle since he got here. But that didn't make Emilio very interested in meeting her. Not that he didn't WANT To meet her. Simply that he was too NERVOUS to meet her.
On the other hand, he took one look at the other girl and immediately felt unnerved. Not that there was anything wrong with her. That was the problem. She was beautiful. She appeared innocent and Emilio KNEW what innocence looked like.
Fine fine fine. He would go talk to them. Simply for fun since he didn't have anything else to do after a long day of hard training with nothing new to show for.
"If they let me, i would happily love to see. Do you think, maybe, just maybe... They would let me sword fight? I always wanted to try it, but nobody wanted to train me."
"The little lady wants to learn to sword fight?" he said in an amused tone as he floated down from the roof and winked at Lara. "Hmmn... Perhaps we could open up the schedule to let you in." | CARRY ON MY WAYWARD SON, THERE'LL BE PEACE WHEN YOU ARE DONE. LAY YOUR WEARY HEAD TO REST, DON'Y YOU CRY NO MORE.

"The little lady wants to learn to sword fight?" Lara looked up, hands on her hips, and watched Emilio float to the ground. From what she had heard, Emilio was very good at what he did, and a bit of a trickster-type. Which Lara could appreciate. Even if she didn't quite see eye-to-eye with him all the time. Winking, he said, "Hmmn... Perhaps we could open up the schedule to let you in." Sighing a little, Lara spoke in her frank, open way. "Hello, Emilio. Haven't seen you around in a while. I'm sure we can find a place." Turning to Trinity, Lara said, "There's plenty of places around here to train. If they won't let us use the training grounds, we can just take a few blades to the fields and practice there. " Trinity seemed to want this training. A lot. She also seemed afraid that someone was going to tell her no. That this was off-limits. Well, Lara would take care of that. No need to fear. If this girl wanted to learn, she should be able to give it a try. "By the way: Emilio, this is Princess Trinity Mouser from Yindse Castle. Trinity, this is Emilio, one of our keybladers. A good one. Don't let it go to your head, Milo." Gesturing from Trinity to Emilio, Lara made the introductions and waited to let the two say hello. Trinity Mouser EMILIO & DIABLO

A voice sounded from above, she looked to see some sort of white hair boy. Who was he? He began in a teasing tone she barely even recognized, asking if she wanted to swordfight. Then when she thought for a moment he would be against it, he quickly asked when they should schedule her in. Schedule her in? Really?
They seemed so willing to teach her, her heart fluttered at how amazing they were, at how kind they were being. With practice down, maybe she could travel lots of worlds too, dangerous worlds to explore, like in the stories! she was going to love this place so much!
Lara began explaining that he was one of their top keybladers, Trinity could just feel her eyes become wide with curiosity. "Really?! Wow, hello sir, so very nice to meet you! I hope we can have many fun future gatherings together!" She gave a small giggle at how exciting this was.
She hoped everyday from now on would be like this, so happy, so free. Why this was twenty times better than hiding away behind books, she felt so confident so free here. She saw this as an opportunity to ask the young keyblader questions. "What's it like going into different worlds?" course' she could have asked anyone back at her home.. but a keyblader.. Surely it must be completely different!
