ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain Mikhail slipped down the narrow alleyway, glancing at the blackened windows above his head and back over his shoulder at the dark street he just left. Up ahead, lamp-posts cast a halo of orange light over an open courtyard. Nothing moved in the lamp-glow. Not even a stray cat. A door creaked in the distance. Mikhail could hear the faint brush of his cape against his shoulders. Apart from that, there was silence. Even for Traverse Town, this stillness was eerie. Mikhail had come to the third district of Traverse Town to eliminate Heartless. This was supposed to be a rest-day for him, but he had asked for permission to come to Traverse Town instead. Sometimes, rest days were more taxing than training days. Tired or not, walking the moonlit streets of Traverse Town and searching for Heartless beat sitting around in the Land of Departure. At least this gave him something to do. Brought him closer to his goal. Stepping into the lamplight, Mikhail examined his surroundings. There was nobody on the streets. No open doors. No swaying curtains. The shadows were just that: shadows. Well. If there were any Heartless in the area, he'd find them sooner or later. Or they would find him. Suddenly, a shiver ran up Mikhail's spine. Altert, he pressed closer to the building next to him. Something gave him an uneasy feeling... He was being watched. @tag ### notes MADE BY VEL OF GS

Traverse town, there was just some sort of air about it that created the perfect environment for night at the town. It was almost depressing that he had so little to do, here he had to wait each and every night for the boy to sleep, it left him with free empty schedule.
His snake master never seemed to speak to him anymore, he wondered where the snake had ran off to. The snake probably had something big planned, something that made all in the Light hesitate with fear. Considering the only job Nagi was given was to convert as many keybladers to the heartless, as soon as possible. The only problem was how easy the light seemed to lighten the darkness, almost depressing to a point how little changed he felt he was making in this world.
Lost in thought, someone stepped into the district, someone that instantly held his attention. The boy obviously had an air about him, was he? One of those? Quickly Nagi hid among the shadows, began to watch from afar, the newcomer stepped under the lamplight.
Light flooded over the body showing features in greater detail, most notable the stance, a stance of intelligence. The newcomer was male, choppy dark hair; eyes sharp a killer of sorts. The slightly moving shadow approached closer to get a closer look, using his shadow snake ability to hid a bit better from most trained eyes. He was not the sort to battle outright, he planned not to make a move. He would rather be alive for when Milo broke down, become one with the dark.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain Someone, or something, lurked in the shadows, just out of sight. So, the question was: who (or what) was watching him? A careful examination of the street revealed nothing. Mikhail could see unusually well in the dark. His eyesight wasn't anything special when the sun was out. No better or worse than anybody else's. Only at night did he have sharper eyes than most people could boast. Maybe it had something to do with his magical element. Shadows. Even as a little child, Mikhail had never been afraid of the dark. Whatever this thing was, it kept itself well-hidden. Listening didn't help, either. Mikhail tilted his head and held his breath, waiting to hear a rustling cloak or the click of a boot-heel. A faint wind whispered around the street corners. Far away, the ghost-tones of the clock tower bell counted midnight. Nothing more. For a moment, Mikhail considered summoning his keyblade. But a lesser Heartless would have attacked him by now. Shown itself. Something. Summoning Oathkeeper seemed premature... No, he would wait a moment. Wait and see if he could get this thing to show itself. Mikhail walked to the edge of the lamp-light. Standing with his back to the middle of the building he had leaned against a moment before, he folded his arms and said in a clear voice: "I know you're watching. Why don't you step into the light? Make things a little more interesting."@tag ### bleh MADE BY VEL OF GS

The newcomer stepped to the edge of the lamp-light, this casting a shadow over his main bodily features. Surprisingly this newcomer was facing toward the shadow lurking, this mostly amused the shadow. The newcomer folded his arms then began to speak, the voice was clear almost echoing all around the main district 3 area. Well, this boy certainly had a personality about him.
The shadow began to ponder, if he did step into the light it would give this newcomer a chance to strike him down, if he held a keyblade. However, he currently held no current apprentice to train, maybe, just maybe this would be a newcomer to the snake's nest? Considering how bored he was, he would not mind approaching this newcomer, it might give him some new entertainment.
Slowly the figure began to appear into the light, as the shadows began to peel away. His bright yellow eyes are what appeared first, followed by a red unusually sharp smile, "why hello, what brings you here to this area at this hour?"
The lurker still stayed cautious not getting close enough for a strike, or trying to appear dangerous in any way. He however did kept a small grip on the shadows if there was a need to play defense, best to always play defense to those hero types. They usually will talk if you let them, though there were... times... Other methods were required...

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain The first Mikhail saw of him were a pair of yellow eyes, glinting in the dark. Then, the rest of his body slowly emerged, breaking through shadows like the surface of a pool of water. Darkness seemed to part as a thin figure stepped out from it, staring with a creepy smile. Red and sharp, like a cut. The stranger's manner was confident and utterly calm. "why hello, what brings you here to this area at this hour?"Sinister. That was how this person seemed to Mikhail. Even if this guy just approached him in the street in broad daylight, he would have been alarming. He didn't inspire terror, or the kind of fear that set your heart pounding (at least, not yet). It was a crawling feeling. Like a hundred centipedes curling up your arms, down your spine. Who was he? Mikhail had never met a human-form heartless before, but he suspected that he was facing one now. None of these thoughts showed in Mikhail's expression or body language. A placid mask hid his mingled disgust and curiosity. Was he a really a heartless? Or a nobody? Whatever the case may be, fighting wouldn't gain him anything. Not yet. He needed information. Right now, understanding this unsettling stranger was more important than eliminating him. He looks quick: i have to be ready for a surprise attack. But i won't summon my keyblade yet. If i can just get him to talk...
Before the silence went on too long, Mikhail answered: "Oh, just a midnight walk. Clears my head. Besides: i've always enjoyed the night. What brings you here at this late hour?"

The shadow watched for any sort of impression, he felt slightly upset at little response he had received. Was this new kid used to this sort of thing? Well that was slightly depressing on his part, where's the fun exactly?
With absolutely no reaction, the shadow began to crave it.. A smirk, a change of position, bead of sweat, anything would be fun. Just a part of him wanted to break this calm character, wanted to start a fight, to start some sort of reaction. Maybe, just maybe, the longer they are together there is to be some sort of reaction. Just a little, anything? Where was Milo when he needed him, one touch the boy crumbles apart. Ah! This was just upsetting!
Before the shadow could get lost in too many thoughts of ways to get the young man some sort of reaction, the young man spoke. He held a sense of humor, good, this made the shadow feel a tad bit better. The shadow quirked his head in thought, "Same as you, just a midnight walk. Such lovely weather it is here compared to other worlds. I am rather fond of this place, aren't you?" He poised the ending question, with tinge of threat, he hoped to get some composure lost somewhere. Just anything... Anything would much be appreciated, else this boy was just plain aggravating.
With a sigh of defeat he walked closer into the light showing his dark clothing, he still held no composure of battling. He turned his back away from the newcomer, acted like he was looking at all the buildings around. in reality he was testing to see if the kid played dirty, if he held a little darkness in his heart.
Though if there was no attack, he would gladly continue the pretend friendly conversation. What else did he really have to do? With that boy getting less and less sleep, it was harder and harder to get ahold of him. "Is it true? The recent Heartless attacks?" it was such an odd question, he himself did not even know why he asked. Was it a tease? Was it to see how the newcomer reacted? Was it just to toy with the boy, maybe just maybe a flinch... Something.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain "Same as you, just a midnight walk. Such lovely weather it is here compared to other worlds. I am rather fond of this place, aren't you?" That hint of a threat in his voice was somehow more unnerving than anything else would have been. Mikhail didn't speak. He just gave an ambiguous shrug and kept an eye on Nagi. Nagi stepped deeper into the pool of orange light in the courtyard. At his approach, Mikhail felt his muscles grow tense. He glanced at the alleyways on either side of him: anticipating... he didn't know what. A moment later, the darkly-clad figure turned his back and stared at the buildings along the street. Mikhail narrowed his eyes. What was he doing? Toying with him? Nagi's tone, the glint of his eyes, and his cool unconcern told Mikhail one thing. He was dangerous. Very dangerous. If it hadn't been for the necessary information, Mikhail would have attacked the stranger without hesitation then and there. A fair fight? That was a joke where Heartless or their handlers were concerned. When did any Heartless, Organization member, or villian ever give their victims a chance? They didn't deserve anything different. People like that were to be stopped. Period. "Is it true? The recent heartless attacks?" That question came out of nowhere and caught Mikhail a little by surprise. He raised his eyebrows slightly. Can he tell that I'm a keyblader? "Probably. Anywhere you find hearts, you'll find Heartless. If there was only one Somebody left in this city, the Heartless would attack it. But why ask me? I have a feeling you know more about it than I would." Almost as an afterthought he added, " I'm Mikhail, by the way."@tag ### not the best post

A shrug? That was it a shrug? He did not like that on bit, that was a class move, classy reply, how did he not shiver a little? Ugh, where was Milo? A part of him just wanted to leave this newcomer alone, he was obviously no fun, wasn't like he was getting anything by hanging out with this newcomer anyway.
Well this night has been absolutely horrible, some random kid wondering around with obvious skill of a killer. Did the kid even know how obvious he made himself? Sneaking into the night, thief or murderer, neither were not fun it seemed. Will Milo already sleep, what was he doing? Wondering the night like this fool?
Waiting for a reply, still back facing the newcomer, Nagi began to partially wish he was facing the newcomer. He might miss something important, like that little smirk, oh how little reaction he was getting it seemed never to happen. A moment later the kid replied to his odd question, such an interesting answer. Though if the kid knew about heartless, then that must mean the boy was certainly more dangerous than some pedestrian. Not that he did not figure this before, who calls out to the shadows? Who stalks at night? Who is here? At this hour, but the dangerous.
Nagi gave a shrug, why ask if he knew more? "How do we know, what the other knows, unless we ask one another?" he turned back around, slightly disappointed at not being attacked. Definitely hero-type, must be serious hero type... Such bore. Soon after the boy introduced himself, well this was a change of pace. hero-type who introduced himself? After holding such trained annoying calm pose? Well, then, he will play along to this boy's game.
The shadow gave a friendly smile, "You may call me, Nagi." He gave slight bow to this, "Mikhail", slightly bookmarking the information for later use. Some odd reason the name seemed familiar, though nagi could not quite recall were. He wasn't some god, or know-it-all.
Tilting his head, he looked the boy up and down, a thought occurred to him... A dangerous thought, he knew how to get some sort of reaction from the boy... Milo was scared to be touched, what if this kid feared the same sort of touch? A mischievous smile raised on his lips, has he held his hand out in greeting. "Nice, to meet a fellow owl, don't you say?"

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain "How do we know, what the other knows, unless we ask one another?"As the shadow turned and came closer, Mikhail felt an unease that he couldn't keep from showing in his eyes, not matter how poised he might be. "You may call me, Nagi." Nagi. This was a start, assuming this person had given him his real name. Mikhail stood still while Nagi looked at him, slowly shifting from an indifferent attitude to a slightly more aggressive one. He let his hands fall to his sides, ready to summon Oathkeeper if he had to. Suddenly, Nagi smiled. Mikhail visibly hesitated when Nagi held out his hand. Truth be told... he was afraid to take it. Mikhail didn't much like being touched in everyday circumstances. That feeling was triple-concentrated on a dark street with a strange enemy in the Third District. The thought of letting Nagi grip his hand or get close enough to strike him put him on edge. No denying it. Mikhail didn't scare easily, but Nagi frightened him. Even the shadows around him seem different... almost dirty, like tar...
Looking back, Mikhail couldn't say why he did it. Maybe it was habit after years of forcing himself into dangerous situations. Of forcing himself to do what scared him most. Maybe it was his old shame over that day in Radiant Gardens. Who knew. "Alright," Mikhail replied, "Ask me a question." As calm as he tried to appear, Mikhail couldn't stop his fingers from shaking as he reached to shake Nagi's hand. @tag ### bleh

What was this? He saw it, the shadows felt it, small flicker of fear. Such courageous fool holding so tightly to that courage, why this was the first time the mask. Oh such joyous days, the mask had slipped, it was small but much joyous! If that had only been nagi's hope, what happened next certainly was not his imagination.
Nagi watched the kid react to his out stretched hand, such a dangerous gesture, could mean lots of things. The most friendly would not hesitate to accept the hand, the wise would analyze before action, and those who fear touch well stare then straight-out decline. Much to Nagi's disappointment the kid actually accepted his hand, fitting absolutely none of the categories, what was he to do now?
This was clearly not Milo, or anyone with fear of touch, such a disappointment. He did not bother to hide his disappointment, why should he? He didn't know enough about this boy to gain his interest, why... The boy gave indication of some sort of power, unless it was helplessness? One could never truly know what secrets lie in the dark, such disappointment.
The kid then spoke calmly, offering him the ability to ask any sort of question? Why, this was a twist.. One that he rather enjoyed, hero wanting to answer the questions, and not rushing to get the answers? This made a large impression to nagi, over the whole annoying the boy was. For some reason nagi grew to like the kid, maybe there was more hidden beneath that boring attitude?
Though the problem he ran into, what sort of question? The obvious he wanted to ask was "you are a keyblade wielder, that motion you made." or the question to mess with the boy "do you fear me", or maybe "what is your real reason for being out here..." but nope... Out of all the obvious questions, he would have loved to ask, that already knew the answers to.
His question was "Are you happy?" he spoke it clearly, almost a false caring respond. It was the same sort of coy play he used on Milo, it was really meant to bring confusion and much joy to him. However the question was a serious one, while he sadistically loved it, it was what offered the light an opportunity to present itself. The light showing itself, was of great importance to his master, every light was of great importance.
His eyes flickered at the thought of this new game, it was only fair to play along. Long night, especially with that Milo never sleeping! "Your turn." Course' there were no rules, so both could lie. But that was the fun part? Wasn't it?

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain "Are you happy?"What? Mikhail tilted his head slightly, watching Nagi's expression for some clue to what was going on in his mind. This wasn't some random question. Nagi might be unpredictable and strange, but Mikhail got the feeling that everything he did served some purpose. This was probably some kind of mind game... What bothered Mikhail was that Nagi's little game worked. Suddenly he was examining himself: was he happy? Happiness wasn't something he gave much thought to: his own or other peoples'. Now, standing in the deserted courtyard, he realized that the answer was no. He wasn't happy. All his hard work - even victories against the Heartless - offered only a passing satisfaction. Whatever happiness he knew had died years ago, on the day his lost his best friend. The day he lost his brother. "Your turn."Silence. Should he tell the truth? Or just lie, as usual? Nagi's reaction to something other than "of course I'm happy" could make his motives a little more clear. As vulnerable as it made Mikhail feel, the truth seemed like the best way to keep Nagi interested. That was the whole point. To keep him talking. "No. I'm not happy. And it's been that way for a long time. You, on the other hand, seem perfectly content." Mikhail spoke in a slightly mocking tone, but really this was just to hide his confusion and discontent. A feeling of hatred for this person rose in his throat like bile. Nagi had gotten under his skin: there were few things that Mikhail hated more than being toyed with. Yet, somewhere in the dark corners of his mind, Mikhail admired Nagi. Something about his subtlety, control and adept manipulation brought on a twisted respect. Mikhail and the shadow were more alike than even the Master may have realized. "Now you get to answer my question." Mikhail thought for a moment. Then, "Of every person in every World - Heartless, Nobodies, and Somebodies - who holds the most power?"Mikhail couldn't trust Nagi to tell the truth. Let's see how he lies...

Not happy? Well of course' he was not happy, nobody in the world was. Why the light was always there, how could one enjoy the sight of it? Quite humorous really, what caused so many to turn to the shadows, they forget the light in front of them. Though the answer in itself brought a little joy to Nagi, just a little. This was no fool in front of him, why with the honesty as a factor, they might as well be playing a chess game.
What he did rather enjoy most was the fact this heroic type was admitting to the god given truth, it meant there was much going in that little head of his. Nagi began to wonder what else was there? What else was in that little head? Was this truly a keyblader? If so, how happy were those silly morons?
This was going to be a long night, oh how fun. Maybe Milo could wait, Nagi should stay away, a drug could become too addictive. Looking around he noticed two chairs across one another at a table, probably some small shop closed for the time. Right when the boy asked his question, Nagi turned and began to walk away. Where he walked to? Why those two chairs, getting close he looked it up and down examining the metal design. Such intricate design, it would certainly hold even the fastest of civilian weight, such a great interest. "Very lovely, don't you think?"
He pulled the chair out, the metal scrapping against the brick brought sharp noise. He took a seat in it, leaned on the table with his head placed onto his left wrist. He smiled sharply, then stared at the man with his bright yellow eyes waiting to see if he joins him. The main issue the boy might have is how dark this location was, but Nagi really held no plans to attack. Why, in reality he had no way to attack, but hey the boy didn't know that.
After a few moments of waiting, Nagi changed his position to lean back in the metal chair. He acted as if in deep thought, even though he already knew his answer. Finally, what had probably been ten minutes he spoke his answer, "Why, you." Course this was both honesty and a lie, those around held power, strong power. He personally hated how nobody seems to realize just how strong they were, but it was what made them weak. Though the answer itself also held a hint of everyone, and everything. That a person in general no matter who they are, held the strongest power of all.
Why that ridicule of a monster, light, and at same time shadow. Light was what made fools love, tear themselves apart... If taken at full strength it could burn worlds alive. Then there was shadow, it could make one so lonely they never sought out the light... Never realize how great it is to shine the light, but oooh... If a shadow ever seek the light knowing they can never join it, oh oh how brightly it shines! How deadly it could be! It was what could shatter everything an instant, something his master truly knew... A reason she as shadow must use use her power of wisdom, something that made her powerful.
Nagi watched the kid, he acted nonchalant like this was an obvious answer, but he soo craved a reaction. Anything would be nice, yelling, denial, questioning... Ugh, he wanted it written all over this kid. Why was this kid held such a defense? It was much bothersome, and he hated that. After a while he felt it was his turn to ask a question, "What are your desires?"

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain Nagi turned away from him and moved out of the light. Was he just walking away? Game over? Mikhail took an unconcious step forward. His question wouldn't go unanswered. Not if he could help it. It took only a second for Mikhail to realize where Nagi was going. A small wrought-iron table sat outside the ring of lamplight near an empty building. For moment, the shadowy figure seemed fascinated by it. "Very lovely, don't you think?"
A chair scraped against the cobblestones as Nagi pulled it back. Mikhail flinched a little at the sudden noise, glancing down the street to see if any doors opened. At first, it seemed like a bad idea to follow Nagi into the dark. Still... sitting at a table wasn't the ideal position to attack someone from. It was with a strange sense of relief, almost anticipation, that Mikhail approached the table. He hesitated. Then he sat down. Nagi leaned back, as if in thought. "Why, you." His tone seemed nonchalant, almost as if this were some normal conversation between two peers. But the answer, just like Nagi's question, threw Mikhail off-balance. Telling a stranger that they were the most powerful person in all the Worlds... what was the point of it? Because it obviously wasn't true. The Master, the Organization XIII, even (and it made Mikhail disgusted just thinking about it) that damned Emilio was more powerful. Maybe Nagi was trying to use flattery. No. As flattery the answer would have been too clumsy. For a long time Mikhail sat quietly under Nagi's watchful eye, tracing the patterns on the table with his fingertips. Nagi broke the silence. "What are your desires?"Mikhail looked up. There was no need, he told himself, to consider this question, to spend time wondering or second-guessing. Obliterate the Heartless. Tear down the Organization. And, most of all, to make Axyl and his lost friend whole again. That was it, wasn't it? Everything he desired the most. As he stared at Nagi, barely hiding his emotions, Mikhail realized that the list was incomplete. Images flashed before his eyes: being reunited with his brother, his family happy and whole, guilt and shame washed away like blood in the rain. Happiness. Mikhail bit his tounge, glaring at Nagi. Then he answered. "I'm looking for a friend." Close enough. Declaring himself the sworn enemy of all Heartless was plain stupid. Axyl was none of this guy's business. Let him make as much of that answer as he wanted to. "Your answer.... what did you mean?" The truth was, Nagi's piercing questions had forced Mikhail to examine his motives, re-live painful memories. Mikhail didn't care about keeping up appearances anymore. This conversation... It was almost like talking with the Master... @tag ### notes MADE BY VEL OF GS

There was little bit of a defense break, he rather enjoyed that. OH, nobody could resist that, unless they found him to be utter moron, in which they are boring and should rot in hell. The kid explained he was looking for a friend, that was quite an interest, who was this friend? Where had he gone? Was he among the ranks of the heartless?
Know the funny thing? Everyone, everyone seemed to be looking for someone. What was with these kids? He swore, it is almost like he didn't have to kill people to get them to have missing "friends". It was actually quite sad, if someone else was doing the job, he wanted in on it... Maybe the two could work together? Ahh well, fate had a cruel way to create heroes, no wonder so many flee the light? He was merely helping the fate do its "job".
He leaned back forward creating a slight "cling" as it hit the ground, he looked up at the boy wondering what he should reply. This was the sort of sensitive situation that those with hearts take very seriously, that those without hearts could never understand. The sort he loved to suck in and enjoy, that ever lasting pain that never ended. The sort of thing, with a singular word could break someone.
Why it was that which gave heroes the hope to continue on, it was not till they realize how truly helpless they are, does it shatter them. Before he could make a singular action of even pretending to care, the boy changed the subject back to the "who holds power", "what was meaning of this" Nagi imagined a mockery vision in his head. Ahh, it much annoyed him how persistent the boy was, going back to that topic. Course' this could mean many many things.
First that last desire topic was super touchy, which it always was, something he a heartless could never understand. Second, this boy was mainly trying to gain more information, why who wouldn't? Though why ask information from a shadow? Clearly something wrong with him, the shadow always hides all the facts. Third, the boy was actually truly curious on what the shadow had meant. Such a fool, a shadow means nothing. It was merely the absence of light, hell some say it even takes away that light.
Well, time to answer that blasted question. Then of course' he could it back on the boy... This was a game? Was it not? He leaned forward, acted a bit bored from the repeat of the last subject. He replied with a bored voice, "obviously what it sounds like. You, are. Did you consider yourself weak, or some nonsense? comparing yourself to others?" After he said the words he thought back to Milo and his own weakness. This thought brought on, what was this boy's weakness? Truly, on the inside? It mattered not what the boy thought of the shadow, but rather what shadow thought of the boy. Though he was never one to care what anybody truly thought, why else give random boy his keyblade? Why drop this same boy in the middle in a desert? Why obsess over the boy? Certainly wasn't for his master or the boy.
Taking this to next level, he picked himself out of the chair. Then walked closer to the boy, with bit of angry stride, and faced the boy. His yellow eyes showing much brighter than before, almost with a hint of red mixed in. Deep down the boy had struck a nerve, but Nagi would never really admit to it, he will claim it was all an act.
Those nerves? They were following thought patterns of... Why did he not see? Not see the light shining over all those somebodies? Just as foolish as the rest of them! "you obviously are talented sneaking around at night silently. Why with what you know, wouldn't surprise me if you were even a keyblader. The way your hands move, you were chosen. Obviously it was for a reason, probably why fate decided to screw you over like the rest of those chosen. Shining brightly in the light, your strength blinds those you blindly attack." He stepped away the anger stripping away as he sat back down, almost as if nothing had happened.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain Cling. The metallic clip echoed faintly as Nagi let his chair touch the ground. The darkness made it difficult for Mikhail to read his expression, but the Shadows' tone when he answered was unmistakeably bored. "Obviously what it sounds like. You, are. Did you consider yourself weak, or some nonsense? comparing yourself to others?"
Once again, Mikhail stopped to think. An expression of surprise crossed his face. Weak. No, he didn't think of himself as weak. Keyblade wielding. Magic. The Master trained all of the apprentices well and Mikhail had as much talent and drive as the next person. But he had been comparing himself to others, using Emilio - and enemies he faced in battle - as a measuring stick. Even though Nagi's claim was false, his dismissal of comparisons lightened Mikhail's mood ever so slightly. Suddenly, without warning, the air turned cold with tension. Nagi stood up. His stance and walk were angry, perhaps even threatening. The building wall felt rough and splintered as Mikhail pressed against it, his body going tense, staring at the glowing red-and-yellow eyes of the Shadow. Now the fear came, that dry, bitter taste in his mouth. "you obviously are talented sneaking around at night silently. Why with what you know, wouldn't surprise me if you were even a keyblader. The way your hands move, you were chosen. Obviously it was for a reason, probably why fate decided to screw you over like the rest of those chosen. Shining brightly in the light, your strength blinds those you blindly attack."
Nagi sat back down like nothing happened. Silence. Mikhail was staring at Nagi, eyes wide, fingers spread, heart pounding. So close. He had come so close to summoning Oathkeeper: only the fact that Nagi didn't know who or what he was kept the blade from appearing with a flash. For a moment, tension and confusion showed plainly on his face. Then, the mask slipped back into place. Chosen. No, he hadn't been chosen... at least, he never thought of it that way. If he had been chosen for a reason, what was it? And who did the choosing? The Master? But no single person - at least, no single person Mikhail had ever met - had the power to decide anothers' purpose. And why? Why had fate - whatever you chose to call it - dealt him, and so many innocent people, such a cruel blow? Axyl didn't deserve what happened to him. So many of the apprentices came to the Land of Departure scarred, broken. Why? Why were the heroes the ones who suffered the most? Mikhail didn't notice his fists were clenched until his nails bit into the skin. Whatever the answer might be, one thing was clear. Mikhail would retreat back inside his old armor. Nagi had gotten deeper under his skin, unlocked more closed doors, than anyone else had in years. Too many old wounds were open again. "As fascinating as this is, I think it's time we moved on to your next question."@tag ### notes MADE BY VEL OF GS
