| Carmen had been wasting time, wandering about Traverse Town. He was starting to make a habit of sneaking out when he had nothing better to be doing. He didn't see the harm in it as long as he got back before Daxior noticed. The teen didn't think he'd care too much, as long as he came back.
He kept his gasmask on as he went. Half-hoping he'd run into Noah again today. Carmen was starting to like him. But, still didn't feel comfortable enough to just seek him out to talk. After all, he could be busy, and the boy didn't want to seem like a bother. Didn't he have some sort of job?
That's when he saw someone else. That was one of the keybladers from the labyrinth right? the ones he almost tried to hitch a ride with? They made it past Ruth! Or at least this one seemed to have. Hopefully his friend did as well. Even though he didn't seem like the smartest, the lighter haired one was funnier...
The teenager hesitated for a moment. How should he approach him anyways? After all, he played with them a little bit more than being straight up helpful... But maybe, maybe Mikhail wouldn't hold a grudge for that. What had the light-haired boy called him again....? Mikki-boy? He didn't seem to like that... Hmm. Oh, right!
“Hey! Mikhail, was it?!”
He called out, taking a few steps towards him before stopping. Tilting his head to the side. Please let it be the same person. Carmen didn't feel like really embarrassing himself today. He didn't think the guy had ever really seen him back there. So he'd obviously have to introduce himself at some point.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain First district. Strings of white Christmas lights glittered between distant buildings. A tower with a great clock lit from behind glowed like a reflection of the golden moon overhead. Mikhail stood in the street with his hands in his pockets. After that fight, a pause to admire the evening was a welcome change of pace. The air smelled cool and sweet. Sighing, the keyblader rolled his shoulder to get the stiffness out; this patrol had been tougher than most. When the Keyblader worked his way across the Third District, he found the shadowed alleyways and back courtyards swarming with Heartless. A few of his encounters put him in a cold sweat. The invasions came more often, more intense. And the Heartless had become more bold. Well. Nice to be out of there. The rest of tonight should be uneventful; just head home... report to Rose... get some sleep... "Hey! Mikhail, was it?!"Huh? Mikhail turned around, only to see a kid in a gas mask coming towards him. Light glinted off the creepy round goggles hiding his eyes. The mask completely covered his face, but even with his features hidden, Mikhail knew that this was a complete stranger. His hair, his build, his walk. None of it was familiar. Not even the voice. Who was this guy? How did he know his name? Mikhail kept his hands in his pockets and looked at the newcomer through eyes a little narrowed. "Yes, I'm Mikhail. Who are you?"MADE BY VEL OF GS

| Why hadn't Carmen thought of a response prior to calling out to him? He wasn't positive on the best way to tell Mikhail who he was. Though it would probably best to ad-lib it as usual. He took a deep breath before responding.
“We didn't really meet meet last time I saw you... I'm from the labyrinth...Sorta.” the teenager had half a mind to make a joke about being the lizard but, that probably wasn't cool. No, he'd been in the maze too long. The horrible things that went on barely bothered him these days. A corpse-chucking flesh eating lizard heartless was one of those things...
Mikhail didn't seem used to it, neither did his friend. No they were literally fresh meat in that world. So they wouldn't get the sick sense of humor that the teen had developed. So it would probably be best to never make a joke like that around them.
“I wrote the note...And left the potions...And followed the two of you most of the ti-” Realizing just how awkward that sounded Carmen cut himself off. He stalked them.He played with them instead of just helping. He was no better than the person who tricked him. He glanced down for a moment and scratched the back of his head. Slightly embarrassed. Okay more than embarrassed. What he did wasn't normal. It sounded so bad. But he was desperate.
“This is all.... Creepier than intended. ”
He let out a rather nervous laugh. Hopefully, this wasn't going to completely kill any chances of him getting to know this person better. There was a high possibility that it would. After all, if someone said this to Carmen, he'd probably turn and walk away and pretend it never happened.
There had to be a way to make it feel, well less creepy. Less awkward? He could take off his mask. It wasn't really doing the conversation any favors. Sure it was a comfort blanket, but people around here wouldn't understand that.
With Carmen's luck, Mikhail would probably see him as some sort of threat if he kept it on. Or maybe an antagonist of sorts? Anti hero maybe? The teenager started to unstrap his mask, quickly pulling it off and looking back over at Mikhail. His nervousness showing on his face. He really didn't need to get decked today for being weird.
“I'm Carmen...”

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain Mikhail waited as Carmen paused for breath. Then the words came spilling out. " We didn't really meet last time I saw you... I'm from the labyrinth... Sorta."The labyrinth. Gas-mask Kid was from the labyrinth? Mikhail stared with a quizzical look on his face. Maybe he escaped after they opened the world? "I wrote the note... And left the potions... And followed the two of you most of the ti-"Mikhail's mouth fell open. This? This was the Kid? The freaky-note Kid? A surge of cold anger filled Mikhail's chest as memories of the fear and pain came flooding back. Eyes glittering, he slipped one hand out of his pocket. Tapped the side of his leg with his index finger. Gasmak-Kid scratched the back of his head; he seemed a bit sheepish. "This is all... Creepier than intended." This kid... wasn't as freaky as Mikhail had imagined. Now that the answers came, now that he knew this little twerp had just been watching them the whole time, the Note lost that particular eeriness that comes with the unknown. All the same. Despite Carmen's obvious embarrassment, Mikhail's attitude was anything but friendly. "Well, I don't know why you'd be surprised. If leaving demon-scrawls and stalking my friend and I isn't a problem to you, why wouldn't your conversation be 'creepy'?"
Reaching up, the Kid fumbled with a few straps and pulled the mask off. Thick white bangs framed a nervous, boyish face. "I'm Carmen..."Carmen. Mikhail had two images of this person in his mind. The mysterious, sinister Unknown from the Labyrinth. And the un-intimidating, awkward kid standing right in front of him. Yeah. So much for a malicious presence watching his and Emilio's every move. Well. Or maybe Carmen was just a good liar. But oh, Mikhail had the Kid right here: and he wasn't leaving without answering a few questions. "Okay, Carmen. You owe me a few answers. Why were you following us? What did you want? And where the hell WERE you that whole time? Did you just stalk us for fun? And that door. Your cryptic riddles almost got us KILLED."Mikhail clenched his fist, restraining himself. The more he thought about this, the more he wanted to wrap his hands around this kids' neck and strangle him. MADE BY VEL OF GS

| Mikhail had a very good point. It was going to be creepy regardless.. But was that really a bad thing? Carmen was supposed to creepy. That was his original purpose. To unnerve people. It's what everyone tried to teach him to do. Might as well own it. The teenager shrugged.
“The intentions behind them are different, same with the setting. So you know I just figured.”
It was a partially sarcastic response. Sarcasm didn't generally help with tense situation. But Mikhail seemed to be getting angrier by the moment. So it didn't feel like it would hurt, but it obviously didn't help.
There were a lot of things the teen shouldn't have done. Not just helping them outright on their mission was one. The riddle another. Deciding to randomly call out to someone he kind of screwed over was another. But he was going to handle it.
Okay, Carmen. You owe me a few answers.
“Fine... Just. Don't jump me if you don't like the answers.” He held up a hand and took a step backwards. Mikhail was strong. And if he wanted to he could probably take Carmen's untrained butt down in a matter of seconds. Because of this, he didn't want to be within striking distance. Just in case.
“At first it was curiosity. Then I realized neither of you were from there. And then I thought I could use the two of you to get out of there. I was desperate, okay.”
Carmen admitted with a sigh. He wasn't going to sugarcoat any of it. After all, Mikhail wanted answers. And he was going to give him them, straight up. Most of them at least. He crossed his arms and shook his head before speaking again.
“But you AREN'T DEAD. Are you? Is he? I don't choose what's behind the doors. I didn't even check. I just knew the ones I went through had been safe.” Safe in the way that he didn't fall through a trapdoor, or whatever else could have been behind the other one. The only reason it wasn't safe for Carmen was due to who he ran into afterward. And as far as he was concerned, that meeting had nothing to do with the door.
“The riddle was a mistake. I should've just given you the answer instead of trying to be mysterious... It was rushed and messy, and anything but helpful."
" But I didn't force your hand. I didn't tell you to go through that specific door. That was your choices.” He tried to keep his voice calm and level. He was well aware the riddle was a screw up. But he wasn't going to admit to being the reason they fell. He was too stubborn. He also didn't want anymore guilt.
Carmen glanced back at Mikhail unsure if he should continue, or see what his reaction was so far. The awkwardness from earlier was gone. But the tension kept him somewhat nervous.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain "At first is was curiosity. Then I realized neither of you were from there. And then I thought I could use the two of you to get out of there. I was desperate, okay." Gaskmask Kid sighed. Mikhail crossed his arms and bit his tounge, staring at Carmen. Images of bloody corpses and nightmare monsters flashed through Mikhail's mind as his anger began to ooze away. Fine. He could understand Carmen being desperate to escape that hellish maze. And he was right about one thing. As close to death as Mikhail and Emilio had come, they were both still alive. Carmen had provided them with hi-potions, and a tip for killing Ruth. In a place like that, giving potions away was a risk, a sacrifice. Or just a way of getting out. After all, what good were Mikhail and Emilio to this kid dead? "The riddle was a mistake. I should've just given you the answer instead of trying to be mysterious... It was rushed and messy, and anything but helpful. But I didn't force your hand. I didn't tell you to go through that specific door. That was your choices."Carmen glanced at Mikhail as if he were a bomb about to blow. Annoying. But understandable. Mikhail closed his eyes and let out a gusty sigh. There would be no apology from him for his heated questioning: after all the crap they went through, why wouldn't he be angry? At the same time, though, Carmen's answers took the edge off his bitter response. This kid didn't look like someone to fear. He was nervous. He had approached Mikhail, not avoided him. The riddle had been foolish (at the very least), but he admitted it. Why had he called out to Mik anyway? "Alright. Fine. You weren't out for our blood or playing some sadistic game. And I suppose someone other than me might thank you for those hi-potions. Two more questions. Why did you call out to me, after all that? What did you want?"His hands slipped into his coat pockets. Relax your shoulders. Try to look a little less pissed off. MADE BY VEL OF GS

| Carmen paused. There really wasn’t any major reason. In fact, he wasn’t even positive himself why he did it. Was it simply because he got caught up in the exciting thought of those two surviving? That he’d finally run into a somewhat familiar face and decided that hey, maybe he should try and make friends?
“I just, got caught up in the excitement of seeing a semi-familiar face again… Just wanted to make sure you were real... I think.” There was a lot of confusion and hesitation in his voice. He glanced away from Mikhail and locked his eyes on the ground. Have you really gotten that clingy? That desperate? To the point that you attach to anything and everything familiar. Anything that seems good? He bit down on his lip rather hard, almost to the point of drawing blood. Trying to ignore the intrusive voice. Always poking at him in the worst of times. Maybe he needed a psychiatrist.
“Nothing important...Really.” Like what exactly were they doing there, and during the few times Carmen lost track of the duo, did they run into anyone else? Could they have possibly run across Chris? Or maybe even his father? There was really no chance of it. Literal zero. But it still crossed his mind.
“But, I do have to ask...Why? Why did you two go there anyways? You weren’t looking for someone too right?” He didn’t listen to too much of the duo’s banter. No the distance he kept made it hard a lot of the time. And honestly, who in their right mind goes to a place like that for fun? Or really for anything other than something extremely important. To them or someone, something else. Unless they were sent there…
Why was dad there then… Did he really get lost? Or did he do something? Maybe I should’ve just brought up what I heard. Instead of taking off. There was a look of guilt on the teens face, as he turned his attention back on Mikhail.
Carmen figured he wasn’t calming down too much.Though he was sure that Mikhail wouldn’t actually lunge at him now. The time for that seemed to have passed. So he let his guard down more. Tried to make himself less tense. But he started to twist and fiddle with the mask in his hands. instead Still showing signs of being nervous.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain "I just, got caught up in the excitement of seeing a semi-familiar face again... Just wanted to make sure you were real... I think." You think. Mikhail pushed his bangs away from his eyes. The more Carmen talked the more his anger faded out. Who gets excited just to see a stranger? Someone lonely. Even that urge to see if Mikhail was real made sense: that labyrinth messed with your head. Mikhail started to wonder how many days, weeks, or years Carmen spent in that nightmare world. Mikhail watched without blinking as Carmen bit his lip so hard it nearly bled. Was the kid stressed or embarrassed or what? "Nothing important... Really. But, I do have to ask... Why? Why did you two go there anyways? You weren't looking for someone too right?" "Too. So you're looking for someone."Mikhail watched Carmen, eyes slightly narrowed. This was a strange one. Nervous. Jumping to greet someone he knew barely anything about. Guilty. Though Mikhail wasn't about to put his arm around the kids' shoulder or offer any handshakes, his resentment cooled like a dying ember as Carmen twisted that eerie mask in his hands. Again, Mikhail sighed. "You can relax... I'm not going to yell at you. If you meet my partner, though, you might want to pick an escape route before saying hello. Maybe a manhole to hide under." Whatever else he might be - pitiable, foolish, cunning - Carmen was intriguing. He wouldn't mind learning more about the boy in the mask. Best way to do that might be giving a little information. Just to start an exchange. "My partner and I were sent to Unlock the Labyrinth. If you ever go back, you'll find we succeeded. Thanks, in part, to you." Mikhail eyed him coldly. "Although, I wouldn't be surprised if you never set foot near that Pit again. Heaven knows I won't go back on any pleasure trips." He waited for a moment. Then he asked, with a softer expression (calculated, but convincing), "How long were you in that place? That where you got the gas-mask?" MADE BY VEL OF GS

| “Yeah...I had family trapped there somewhere. But. Well.” Carmen shrugged, looking rather frustrated. He never found him. He probably never even got close to him. Instead he lost his twin and his mind somewhere in the twists and turns. Maybe his brother had better luck than him. Maybe he was happy with their dad right now. Safe. That would be the happy ending he wanted.
“I ended up losing more as opposed to finding what I’d lost.” He admitted. It was good to know that Mikhail had no plans to yell at him, or pummel him. So he could stop being as tense. But the whole situation was still rather awkward. That couldn’t be helped. After all, he was the source of the awkward feelings
Carmen nodded at the part about Emilio. He was definitely going to keep that in mind. In fact, now that he knew they both survived, he doubted he’d even call out to him if he saw him. Or at least hoped he’d have half a brain not to if the situation ever exposed itself.
“I see….That’s pretty awesome. As much as I should, I doubt I’ll ever go back there.” The idea of the world being open was nice. Terrifying as well. If he could go back there without having to worry about heartless, could others get out? There were things, people, scarier than Ruth and Benny combined. People he’d only heard stories of. The idea of them possibly finding a way out was worrisome to him.
Carmen shook his head. It felt like a few months… Maybe almost a year? It could have been longer too. Time could have passed differently there. And he couldn’t quite be certain on how long he’d actually been away from home.
“I’m not sure… Almost a year? I lost track of time a lot at one point….It was too dark.” He smiled slightly at the mention of the mask, glancing down at the old mask in his hands.
“Nahhh. I got this from my dad ages ago. Only thing I have left from home... Why’d you ask?” Carmen was slightly curious as to why Mikhail asked about it. Probably just a way to keep the conversation going.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain "Yeah... I had family trapped there somewhere. But. Well. I ended up losing more as opposed to finding what I'd lost."Alright. He gave up. With a sigh, Mikhail let himself relax, his anger finally ebbing away into a vague sense of exasperation. And pity. Carmen - he finally called the boy by name rather than "that kid" - escaped the maze, but left family behind in doing so. Mikhail wondered what bitter circumstance had separated them, who he left behind, and whether they were still alive or fallen prey to the monsters and madness of the Labyrinth. "I see... That's pretty awesome. As much as I should, I doubt I'll ever go back there."
A year? Carmen seemed almost innocent. Child-like. There must be more to him than met the eye: otherwise, Mikhail didn't see how he could have survived that long. Now that he knew more of Carmens' story, Mikhail almost regretted lashing out at the boy earlier. As much of a pain as he had been, living in the maze and leaving family behind must have been rough. In fact, it was a mild relief to see Carmen smile, if only a little. "Nahhh. I got this from my dad ages ago. Only thing I have left from home... Why'd you ask?""It's... an unusual accessory around here. I was just wondering: the Labyrinth seemed like a place where it might be useful." His voice was gentler: this time without guile or calculation. A little breeze hummed through the strings of lights overhead in the pause that followed. Mikhail ruffled his hair, gazing down at the grey cobblestone street. Then he said, a little awkwardly, "I'm sorry, Carmen. I know what it is to lose family. The Labyrinth is open now: they have a chance of escaping." MADE BY VEL OF GS
