Personality |
we're all mad here - Utterly crazy: delights in his madness. Sadistic, but doesn't like to torture people physically. Doesn't like to get his hands dirty (literally, or in a figurative sense with violence). When he does loose it and kill someone or something, it vaguely disturbs him. He'll wipe his hands on his pant legs for days afterwards, or make like he's washing them. jigsaw - Fascinated by heroes and the Light. So curious. Seeks out danger and risks. Is like a child who pulls stuff apart to see how it works. Likes to see how people tick (and to find out how he can tweak them). Has a natural "feel" for people's thought processes and emotions. Fascinated by dreams , by what they reveal about character. He never dreams. At least, not proper dreams. Has to build his own. Intelligent. Cunning. Must keep his mind busy (unless he is in one of his lethargic moods). Open in his excitement. All missions and torments are "games": Scorpius almost sees enemies as playmates. Strange speech pattern. Morality is upside-down and backwards: wrong is right and right is wrong, with some twisted exceptions. Mercy is weakness - or a tool. Tears are also weakness. Hates it when he cries: being caught in tears might trigger a violent outburst. Prone to sudden spells of lethargy: Scorpius inherited a piece of the Sloth snakes' voice, who talks him out of some of his worst crimes. Cocks his head to one side when he doesn't understand something or is thinking. Scorpius is momma's boy, yet bears more resemblance in personality and appearance to his father. Theatrical. shadow prince - Scorpius wants to see the spread of the Dark. Scorpius ENJOYS every minute of his quest. Works to see his mother enthroned. Doesn't want to be king: Lilith will rule the world. Scorpius wants power, but not a kingship: no trappings. Just TRUE power. He also wants his own way. Craves chaos, even on a small scale: for example, everything in his chamber is off-kilter and he changes it constantly. Wherever he goes, he'll leave a mass of debris and nightmare fantasies in his wake. Fascinated with puzzles and tricks for the mind. Seems irredeemable: yet... he does have a weak perception of love, fragile and twisted thought it may be. Will make sacrifices - even of his own will - for Lilith simply because he cares about her. Must be accepted by the two people whose opinions matter: his father and his mother. Fascinated by people dedicated to a cause. They suffer: why? The Heartless understands pleasure and satisfaction. He couldn't understand joy. |
History |
Before the first stir of the gathering storm, before the last road in her long rise to power, Lilith lived as an experiment. Locked away in a test tube for weeks. Months. Years. Then, in the last six months of Liliths' captivity, the scientist discovered that she was with child. Shortly after Lilith's escape, she bore her child. Scorpius. tests done on her effected him: The boy was always a little "off". The tests conducted on Lilith effected her child as well, making him even more mad than either of his parents. Besides. What child raised by pure darkness could ever be sane? Yet, though she didn't know how to show it, Lilith loved her son, (or came as close as her evil nature let her). Her son, the shadow-prince. A pureblood heartless, born of the darkness of two wicked hearts. As for who his father was, at first Scorpius could feel that something was wrong. Missing. The answer "Father" never occurred to him until years later, watching Somebody families at play in an outer World. What did it matter, anyway. Lilith was there, wasn't she? That's what he told himself, pushing a new bitterness down, down, down somewhere deep. Despite his madness, the little Heartless possessed a fierce, hungry intelligence. Curiosity burned like white iron. He was forever asking questions, picking up on motives and intention quickly, and experimenting with the world around him. How did it work? What would this do? With his thin, tiny fingers, Scorpius pulled wings off butterfiles: at first to see how they were attached... then he leared to enjoy their pathetic struggling. Soon, he enjoyed the two in almost equal measure. And, as time went on, he grew too old for butterflies... All of Lilith's toxic philosophies were passed on to her son and yet, her words weren't the only ones he heard. Scorpius learned to watch and to listen and to play little games: he had a fascination for these strange little Somebodies and Nobodies with their different little wheels and cogs spinning round and round, making them move this way and that. he liked to get into their heads, see how those cogs fit together. See what happened if you tweaked them, pulled them apart. such fun. such delicious fun. Early on, he learned that, when he slept, he could open a door into a blank, empty space. Then, he could fill that space with whatever he chose. Long hours of the night were spent in this world of his own creation, all locked inside his own head. Once, on an early mission, he stood nearby as a creature eviscerated a foe. Gore splattered the boy: from that moment on, his sadism didn't extend to physical violence, which disturbs him when he takes part. Scorpius trained from a young age to take part in his mothers' mission; primed for power in her new empire. He moved fast, did much, made little puzzles to solve, searched out new challenges. He wandered from world to world, seeing everything, noticing everything, eating it all in. He learned to make a hero question. Question himself, the truth. Everything. Learned to use their convictions as a tool against them. A strange ability to anticipate people's reactions, get inside their heads and catch on to their thought processes, manifested at a young age. Lilith was his idol: he set her up as a hero in his own mind, like a Somebody child idolizing a keyblader. To scorpius, lilith was loving. caring. she told the truth, always to him, and when she lied to others they were skillful, clever lies. beautiful lies. Scorpius is exhilarated by the challenge and thrill of chaos. Just a little deviation, here and there. Scorpius couldn't follow even Lilith without a little mischief and rebellion. His mind is constantly whirring, whirling, on the verge of tearing itself apart. |
