Appearance

Rhys is around average height, he has a darker complexion and a lean build. He has dark green eyes, white hair and a constant broody expression. The part of his appearance that stands out the most are the white tattoos that cover his entire body in intricate designs.

Personality

Generally speaking, Rhys is a jerk. He's extremely judgmental, and won't hesitate to speak his mind. Regardless of how inappropriate or rude the thought is. There is always something for him to be cross about. It's almost a staple of his personality.

Rhys is extremely arrogant. Often holding himself above other people. He acts as though his mere existence is a gift. This all around bad attitude makes him rather hard to get along with. His attitude also makes socializing a pain in the neck. So he tends to be antisocial; staying away from most events or busy areas. He prefers the company of animals, specifically cats, over that of people.

However Rhys isn't a bad person by nature. If anything his bad attitude is more or less armor. Armor he developed at a young age in order to keep going. He's good to those who manage to get close to him. He's loyal to the few people he cares about and will defend them with all he has.

History

Rhys was the only child to a single mother. His father was never mentioned, it was almost as if his mother didn't even know who it was. She would often ignore any of Rhys's questions on the subject, or shut him down entirely.

His mother wasn't the most caring of people. She was a bit neglectful as well as emotionally abusive. It wasn't that she didn't want children, in fact she had always wanted a daughter. And only a daughter. She considered herself "cursed" that she had had a boy. She made sure that Rhys always knew the reason why he was such a burden. It was easy at first though, for her to pretend he was her daughter. Rhys was a kid after all, and didn't mind any of it. As long as it made his mother happy, he was happy. However as he grew older, it became harder and harder to hide the fact that he wasn't biologically a girl. Not only that but he started to take interest in things his mother had deemed "boyish" and didn't want him to even think about.

It all took a toll on his mental health as he grew older. Rhys was barely even a shadow of the happy little kid he used to be. He started to resent his mother, and worked odd jobs throughout his teenage years to save up enough money to leave. As a way of coping he would often pretend that he was better than everyone else. That he wasn't in fact dirt. The longer he kept thinking like that the more it became ingrained in his personality. Doing well at work started to add to his new found arrogance.

By the time Rhys was twenty his mother had already thrown him out, so he had to work harder in order to stay afloat. However, he now had complete freedom. So naturally the first thing he did was cover his body in tattoos. Hiss mother hated the idea of them. So in a way it was almost like his own small rebellion.
