It was honestly an accident. It shouldn't have happened but it did. Emilio had meant to keep an eye on Mikhail and out for anything that might have hurt them but his exhaustion was too much and it took over his body like a wave. Within seconds of leaning his head back against the wall, Emilio was asleep. This time he didn't have nightmares, didn't have flashbacks, and didn't have dreams. For once in his life he was able to get some actual sleep. It did wonders on his body for the short time he was able to relax. When he opened his eyes he had absolutely no idea how much time had passed and how they were still alive. His body was sore, that was a for-sure. Lifting his head away from the wall he glanced at Mikhail. It appeared that Mikhail had been sleeping as well, but he wasn't sure. "Hey... Mikki-Boy, Wake up." He said shoving Mikhail slightly, and using the nickname he'd given him without thinking. Then Emilio pushed himself away from the wall and stretched himself, his body feeling so much better then it did only a short time ago. He was gaining strength back, that was good. He was standing up now and studying their surroundings. Peering back up at the whole they had come down through Emilio snorted. "What a pain..." He muttered and walked away from the little light that shown from above. Looks like the only possible way out would be through the tunnel that led away from the clearing. It was a wonder how they had even survived a fall like that. Then he walked over to the door and gazed at the broken pieces. Stupid... This stupid door. The mission was not going as well as he planned. He was about ready to pull them both out, but decided against it. He wanted to find out who it was that was messing with them. That was his motivation now. Looking down at the door he saw a piece of wood the size of a dagger. Intrigued, Emilio picked it up carefully. He studied it for a moment and then slipped it into his bag in a way that it wouldn't break. He didn't really know why he had taken it, but if they ever met the one who'd done this to them he might find out why. "C'mon Mikhail, we have to get going. Who knows how long we've been down here, we have to get out."It was kind of strange to say the least. Now it wasn't just saving another's life. Both had gone through moments of complete vulnerability and there was no denying that both had save the other's life. This would not be an easy thought for either of them to accept. Emilio absolutely hated to be useless. And he hated being saved by others. But what choice had he had? None. He would have died there if Mikhail hadn't helped him. In fact... They both would have. Emilio suddenly felt sick. They could have died down here. Thank goodness for potions or neither of them would have ever seen the light of day. Then again, they still had the possibility of not ever seeing light. "I'm going to scout ahead, catch up when you're ready. I won't go to far." With that he summoned No Name and began to step into the tunnel to peer ahead.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain "Hey... Mikki-Boy, Wake up." Mikhail's eyes fluttered open. Emilio's voice had both faded into his dream, and pulled him out of it. In that half-way state between sleeping and waking, Mikhail hadn't distinguished it from Axyl's voice playing in his own mind. For a moment, Mikhail just rested with his head laid back against the wall. The X-potion had done its' work. Only faint pain lingered. Putting a hand to his side, he cautiously felt where the chunk of wood had pierced him, expecting a ropy scar. Nothing. Instead, his fingers traced smooth skin. Mikhail could even feel some of his strength returning. Sighing, the boy began to examine his surroundings. He was resting against a wall, smooth stone hard and cold against his back. The chamber around him was bare and dimly it. A faint smell of resin and blood tainted the air. When you breathed in through your mouth, you tasted cold and dust. Fragments of the broken door lay all over the place. Watching Emilio, Mikahil saw him pick a piece up and slip it into his bag. Why? Maybe it's a souvenir. Look at that. Already well enough to be sarcastic. Maybe the price for X-potion really isn't exorbitant. Staring at the ground, Mikhail wondered what lay beyond the other doors. Maybe there had been no right answer. Maybe they were just choosing between three ways to die. Was this whole thing was? Just some sick death game? The only exit he could see was a tunnel: just a dark little burrow in one of the walls. Probably dug by some vicious animal. The walls were too slick to climb and bars blocked the ripped-out doorway: if they were getting out of here at all, that tunnel was the only way. Looking up, he felt a little disbelief. The patch of light above was about the size of a matchbox. After a fall from that height, it was a wonder that either of them were alive. Which reminded him... Mikhail hated being indebted to anyone. He didn't ask for favors. He made deals, mutual agreements. Contracts. To have Emilio save his life... Mikhail hated it. It was just one more thing the Boy Wonder could hold over his head. All this? This was your fault. And now you owe me your life. But still: If it wasn't for Mikhail, Emilio would be dead as well. Nobody owed anyone anything. Mikhail hated being at anyone's mercy. And no one but his own rival had ever seen him this weak. This helpless. Still, underneath all of that tension, Mikhail felt a strange reassurance. As much as he and Emilio hated each other, he knew that Emilio was someone he could count on. Someone who would stick by him in a fight. Someone who wouldn't abandon him when he was vulnerable. "C'mon Mikhail, we have to get going. Who knows how long we've been down here, we have to get out." Mikhail nodded, still fighting off drowsiness. Good point. Hours might have passed between the time they fell asleep and their waking. Maybe the sky above the labyrinth was no longer dark. Either way. It was time to move. "I'm going to scout ahead, catch up when you're ready. I won't go too far." "Wait. I'm right behind you." His voice was a little hoarse. Mikhail stood up, happy to be back on his feet. Summoning Oathkeeper, Mikhail followed Emilio into the tunnel. MADE BY VEL OF GS

The tunnel was dark and damp. An old dirty hole in the earth, full of worms and other slimy things. But the farther you went the more you realized other signs of life... Tracks or some sort.. small cloven tracks. Very very small. About the size of a quarter. There were many of them leading out from smaller holes in the tunnel.
Torch light can be seen in the distance around a corner. There is a lot of noise. chatter of some sort. Squeaky voices yelling, arguing and laughing in a language that can't be understood. There's a lot of them. and they don't sound necessarily happy.
There is loud growl farther ahead as well. But it doesn't sound mean or menacing. It's a cornered animal sort of noise. A scared noise. The little voices get louder after that and the growling continues. What could possibly be going on down here?
As you get closer you see one of the things that left the tracks. No taller than a barbie doll. It's head is that of a bull, with a large nosering. It's a tiny minotaur. It's dark black and has bright glowing eyes. In its left hand is a tiny spear. It turns its oversized head and notices the newcomers. It lets out a snort and holds its spear at the ready and squeaks out a warning you can't quite understand.

And suddenly there was a noise like a crowd of people. Except he couldn't understand anything anyone was saying. And they were in voices as if his entire class of Keyblade apprentices had been shrunk and made into tiny people. He raised an eyebrow at Mikhail but didn't say anything for fear that there might be a repercussion to it. Instead he carefully stepped forward. Whatever it was that was being harassed, didn't sound like it could defend itself very well. He wondered what it was. When the strange creature came into view, he immediately decided that he didn't like it. Whatever it was. He wasn't that big into learning history or the ins and outs of mythical creatures. Except Dragons, Griffins, Phoenix's, and centaurs. Now those were awesome things to study about. Whatever it was, it didn't jog any memories for Mikhail, although he was sure it would in the future. It turned to look at them and said something in a strange language. Probably telling them to back off from it's terrified meal. Emilio furrowed his eyes now and stepped into the clearing where he could see better. All this darkness was ridiculous. He was horrible in the dark. However, the torchlight lit the small clearing and he could see the scene better once he stepped in. Speaking of Dragons... Literally. There was a small feathered one surrounded by the ugly creatures. They were all poking it with sticks until Emilio and Mikhail stepped into the room. What was going on? Couldn't the dragon just fly? Couldn't it breath fire? Why didn't it attack the stupid little creatures? Unless it was a hatchling and not just a small dragon. He would use the torch light as a source. "Close your eyes Mikhail, and when I give the signal, try to take out as many of those things as you can." He said under his breath. "Don't attack the dragon." Without speaking anymore, Emilio drew the light that was used around him and made it brighter. His eyes became a glowing white and his whole body started to shimmer and glow until it was shinning with light. Then he quickly turned the light off. A simple trick to stun them so that Mikhail and Emilio could attack them at full force. Once he turned off the light, Emilio said, "NOW" And then began attacking the little ugly creatures to kill them.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain For a while, they walked through the tunnel without any incidents. Just a lot of worms, damp, and an oozy smell. Squelching though a little patch of wormy ground, Mikhail pulled a face. He didn't particularly like tight spaces, but, after surviving that fall, he wasn't about to complain. It was just good to be in one piece. Looking down, Mikhail noticed an erratic pattern in the soil. Kneeling, he examined the ground closely. Footprints. Tiny, cloven footprints. Fresh ones too. As Mikhail gave the tracks a closer look, he noticed little holes opening onto the tunnel as well. So. This was a burrow after all? At least they're small. Perfect size to cut out your ankles. But they can't throw corpses. That's a plus. Emilio was too far away for Mikhail to warn him without raising his voice. Right now, the two of them needed to stay quiet. By the time Mikhail caught up with his partner - which didn't take long - Emilio was rounding a little corner illuminated by a strange glow. Small, high-pitched noises broke the thick silence of the tunnel. Incomprehensible words in little, fierce voices. Laughing. Arguing. Lower growls. Frightened, warning animal noises. Hunter and hunted. Emilio turned around and looked at him, cocking an eyebrow. Mikhail shrugged and gestured: Let's go see. Stepping around the corner, Mikhail raised his eyebrows in surprise. He wasn't sure what he'd been expecting, but it wasn't this. The floor of the miniature chamber before them seemed coated with glittering black lumps of fur and dotted with glowing lights. Mikhail read a lot of old mythology, simply because he liked it. The creatures were instantly recognizable. Minotaurs. Small minotaurs. One of them lowered its' spear and snorted, growling out some warning. Oh, whatever you say, little monster. It's not as if I'm twelve times your size. What are you hunting... a dragon? Maybe a hatch-ling? Mikhail took one look at Emilio's face and sighed. "You want to go save it, don't you." "Close your eyes Mikhail, and when I give the signal, try to take out as many of those things as you can. Don't attack the dragon."
Yeah, that's what I figured. Mikhail closed his eyes. He stood silent for a moment, waiting as Emilio readied the spell. Then he felt the darkness touch his skin, just before a wave of bright, intense light washed over the chamber. "NOW."Alright. Creatures of the dark would be especially sensitive to that intense burst. Best to kill them quickly, while they were blind. The minotaurs were so small, it would be hard to kill a lot of them at once without crouching. Once you were low to the ground, however, it would be easy for the little monsters to swarm over you. Ugly way to die. Holding Oathkeeper out parallel to the ground, Mikhail stepped into a cluster of the tiny minotaurs and knelt, lightning fast, spinning on one heel so that he killed a circle of the miniature beasts in one stroke. He continued the process. Pin-point pain lanced up his leg as a few of the freak creatures speared him. It was like sticking yourself with a thick, thick pin. Annoyed, Mikhail sent another spray of little Minotaurs flying. When the creatures got too close, STOMP. Mikhail slammed his heel down on them at an angle, in case they got smart and stuck their spears straight up through his foot. So far so good. They were still stumbling, shaking their disproportionate heads in pain and confusing, rubbing their bead-like eyes with tiny fists. Good heaven, compared to the lizard this was almost a game. "Tell me when you've got it! And don't do something stupid and get bit." Mikhail said to Emilio, as quietly as he could. The minotaurs vision seemed to be returning; their aim was certainly getting better. And they were surprisingly strong for such tiny creatures. Mikhail let out a grunt of annoyance as another spearhead bit into his leg. And what are we going to do with this dragon after we get it? It wouldn't be long before the minotaurs tried to overwhelm them by swarming. Mikhail glanced at Emilio, furrowing his brows. No.... he hadn't recovered enough strength to cast a spell... almost, but not yet. MADE BY VEL OF GS

The mini-minotaurs wouldn't stand down, even as their comrades were squashed and thrown about. No they were swarming even as their numbers started depleting. Some groups opting to use ancient battle formations, not that it did much but look cool. They're battle cries and death rattles were overly high pitched squeals. Though some seemed to be crying...Oh dear. Some of the little creatures on the sidelines covered smaller ones eyes and fled back to the tunnels. Maybe that wasn't the best introduction.
Reinforcements might come, or they might not. You never know, but staying in one place for too long was a dangerous idea. The dragon continued to back itself into a corner. Still scared.(Stride can take the baby dragon from here. )
On the other end of the clearing is what looks to be a more paved out pathway. Bigger than the last tunnel, but pitch black... Something shiny was reflecting in the distance. Almost like binocular lenses. They were gone as soon as they were noticed. Sadly, it's hard to tell whether either of them heard footsteps. You know over the screaming mini monsters.
There's about three dozen of the little buggers left.

Fighting the little buggers was a pain. And he decided that he hated fighting anything that wasn't bigger then four feet tall. It was time consuming and frustrating. The moment he found some kind of opening he ignored the menacing little bastards and jumped clear over their heads to that hatchling dragon. It was terrified of him. Compared to the ugly creatures around him Emilio was enormous. The dragon itself was no bigger then two feet long including its tail and about half a foot tall. There wasn't anytime for actual thought on how to get it out. He was already anticipating getting scratched and hurt on the way out. But he really didn't want to have to kill any more of these little things. They were irritating and frustrating to deal with. He was absolutely sure that he would need to take another potion just to keep his ankles, feet, and lower legs from hurting. Taking a lull in the fighting for granted, he quickly pulled out his staff, released his Keyblade and scooped up the little dragon into his arms. Then he used the staff's power to hover over the multitude of little monsters. Damn... He should have done this before hand. The dragon in his arms began to struggle. scratching and biting at his arm and hand. Emilio winced, but made no other indication that he was hurting. "Mihkail! Grab hold of the staff. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier..." He muttered the last part bitterly. Honestly... They really hadn't needed to kill so many of the monster things... "Once you grab hold I'll pull you up above them so they can't get at you." He said, the only problem with this tactic was that it took a lot of energy from him. Flying himself was easy. Flying two people... Not so much. Especially since his staff only floated him. For other people it worked like a broom. But Emilio had to be in control.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain The minotaurs didn't know when to call it a day. Just go home already. Mikhail kicked a few of the howling idiots out of his way, and continued mowing through patches of bristling spears and glittering eyes. Duck, turn, slash. Over and over in a repetitive, monotonous pattern. Glancing at the edges of the room, Mikhail saw some of the minotaurs feeling with their young, even covering their eyes. His face fell. Oh, now that's lovely. Feeling a pang of guilt, the keyblader hesitated for a moment. Bad idea. About five tiny shafts dug into his lower legs. Seeing their enemy pause, a wave of minotaurs surged forward, ready to swarm. Grunting, Mikhail swept his foot in an arc, kicking minotaurs waist-high. The sooner this was over, the better. Glancing at Emilio, Mikhail saw him pick up the dragon (who didn't seem particularly grateful for it) and whip out the Staff. The Staff! Cussing, Mikhail batted a few minotaurs with Oathkeeper. Why didn't they think of the Staff in the first place? "Mikhail! Grab hold of the staff... Once you grab hold I'll pull you up above them so they can't get at you." "Good idea." In a few seconds, Mikhail had run over to Emilio (ducking and flicking away spear shafts) and gripped the Staff. Looking at Emilio, Mikhail nodded. "Let's go." At least this hadn't been for nothing. The dragon was safe, and seemed.. angry. Frightened. B e grateful, runt. If it wasn't for Emilio, you'd be somebody's dinner. Mikhail plucked a few shafts from his boot. Still feeling bad, the keyblader perched on Emilio's staff, muttering to himself. Angry that they can no longer reach the two of them. The remaining minotaurs begin trying to chuck their spears at them. this isn't working too well on their side of things. They make all sorts of angry grunts and squeals, glaring up at them with shiny frustrated eyes. Not only did they kill their comrades, they stole their meal!
They however don't seem to want to pursue them for more than a couple feet. The little monsters stomp their feet and shake their fists in anger. It almost sounds like they're yelling about revenge. No doubt that if they come across Emilio and Mikhail again, they'd swarm. Like piranhas.
There are less worms in this pathway. Mostly because of the stone floor. The walls still appear to be packed down dirt so be careful. There's a brick in the wall every once and a while, so why is the rest just dirt? There's also a footprint every once and a while in some of the muddier areas in the walkway. They're fresh too.

Once Emilio was sure they were far enough from the little monsters he fell to the ground with Mikhail and the little dragon in toe. In order for the dragon not to get hurt he quickly curled himself around it's body and took the brunt force of the fall. And there he lay for a good 5 minutes trying to catch his breath. He inconveniently let go of the dragon who darted away into the darkness ahead of them. Emilio looked up and watched it go with a sigh. Disappointed that it left in such a hurry. He realized that it was probably terrified of him and that it thought he was going to eat it as well. Catching his breath, he sat up and reached into his bag. He didn't have any really bad wounds, but he was bleeding. Pulling out a regular potion he looked at it with a blank expression. Nah... He would take the pain. Slipping his potion back into its pouch, he pulled out some gauze and wrapped it around his other arm where the dragon had chewed at him and around his ankles where the stupid little monsters poked at him. Once he was done he glanced over at Mikhail. "Hey Mikki-boy, you land alright?" He asked a bit bitterly. He was really upset that the dragon had run off. He had hoped that at least it would stick around after they'd rescued it.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain Emilio stopped mid-flight. Randomly. Stopped. So Mikhail fell, landing on his feet and grimacing as the puncture wounds in his legs (if you could call them wounds) twinged and ached. Now Mikhail was in a sour mood. The whole escapade with the minotaurs had been time-consuming, irritating, a little painful, and frankly a little upsetting. Plucking shafts out of his skin, the keyblader suppressed a sigh as Emilio lost hold of the dragon. Skitterings and rustlings died away in the dark. That beast was long gone. Pulling off his boots, Mikhail quickly wrapped up the bloody holes with strips of cloth. "Hey Mikki-boy, you land alright?"Mikhail stopped. Mikki. For a second the keyblader sat in silence, unmoving. He hated hearing Emilio use that name. When he was a child, anyone but Axyl got a thorough, scalding put-down when they called him Mikki. And for his rival to use some derisive twist on Axyl's name for him... it was a little too much. Especially now. Especially after Alyxx... Mikhail kept his voice level. He said a little bit more harshly then he wanted. "Maybe we should throw your face as a distraction at the next monster huh? How would you like to be cornered defenseless by little monster things that want to eat you. What you being so insensitive for?" With that he stood up. "Waste of time my ass. Your a waste of time." He said as he patted himself down and then began to walk in the direction of the foot prints. "Throw your face..." he muttered to himself.

The other keyblader stood up, obviously upset. "Waste of time my ass. You're a waste of time."
Mikhail winced. That shaft struck home. When he spoke again, his voice was cold, but still even and controlled. "Creatures die. That's just the way it is."At that Emilio stomped his foot and, using the staff that was now in his hand, he jumped in front of Mikhail, eyes blazing. "Oh, so it's alright for you to choose the wrong door and get us both beat up so bad we have to save each other? But its not ohkay for me to save a hatchling dragon from certain death? That, doesn't even compare to how much time we lost going through that door." His anger. There was so much of it. He could feel his body's desire to change. But even in his anger he forced it all down. Forced it all back. Don't shift don't shift don't shift. It was difficult for him to even register the words he was saying however. And when he did, he stopped. No no no no no no no. Stupid Mikhail. Look at what he was becoming. No... This is not what he wanted. "Back off Mikki." He said, backing up himself, hovering off the ground.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain Mikhail maintained his cold demeanor when Emilio stepped in front of him. Tension shot through the room like threads of electricity as the two keybladers glared at each other. "Oh, so it's alright for you to choose the wrong door and get us both beat up so bad we have to save each other? ... That, doesn't even compare to how much time we lost going through that door. Back off, Mikki."Mikhail bit his tongue, eyes shifting to a deep, deep purple. The bitterness that surged through him was so strong... he couldn't contain it anymore. All of the little cracks and chips in his self-control gave way. When Mikhail was angry, he got quiet. Now, his voice was deathly low, almost a hissing whisper. "When did I say it was alright? Do you think I don't understand the magnitude of that decision? Why add to the problem with your useless side-trips? And you..." Here a faint quiver entered his voice. "Never use that name again. It belongs to someone far better: you don't even begin to compare, as a keyblader, or a Somebody."
