ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain Mikhail struck down another hearless, Oathkeeper flashing in the moonlight. Panting, he watched the shadow dissolve into thin air. Well. That was the last of one more pack of Heartless. For hours he had wandered through the Third District, cutting through small groups of stray Heartless, working out his frustration, pushing himself to get better. Drawing his sleeve across his forehead, Mikhail sighed and looked at his surroundings. White light flowed down into the street, glinting off cut glass windows and pooling in the empty courtyard not far from where the young keyblader stood. Overhead, the moon hung huge and bright, like an orb of pale fire. Squinting, Mikhail examined the courtyard ahead. Four lamps. Orange light. Cobblestones. A round, wrought-iron table. He knew this place. Walking down the street, Mikhail pushed back the memories of his failure in the duel with Emilio. The Boy Wonder. It shouldn't get under his skin... but it wasn't just the duels and the sharp words and the brash challanges. All of these things just added to a growing sense of futility and frustration. For the past few weeks, Mikhail had been reliving those few, fateful days in his head... and the bitter taste of his guilt and shame weighed heavy on him. Why now? Why do I have to relive this now? Mikhail wondered as he made his way to the center of the courtyard. The last thing I need is that white-haired braggart piling on... Stopping in the middle of the courtyard, Mikhail stood with his head down. Lost in thought. @nagi ### kinda short MADE BY VEL OF GS

There was no real good reason he was here... It could be those short moments next to his master, could be that one keyblader kid, it could be something drawing him.... He walked from District two into three, starring at it... The new thing on the back of his hand. It didn't burn, it didn't have any real feeling. Just, it was there his mind reminding him over and over it wasn't going to go away. That it was stuck there, like a tattoo, heh... A tattoo, how hilarious, more like a collar.
He wanted to burst out laughing, how ironic it all was! How he was nothing, was always be nothing, why it didn't even matter... All in the end she was just going to end him. He had no say in anything, he was owned by her, his master. He could have pretended to be free before, but ooh... No longer. Why there was no inch of hope, she had grown too powerful, too unstoppable. How Hilarious! All of it just Hilarious!
He walked into the third district, no smile on his face... he surveyed the area noticing how those creatures, the very creatures his master somehow managed to create were now all gone. He looked up to see the boy from before, course' he was here... Killing them, Ugh! This just Hilariously made it worst! She flat out told him if he didn't end this all now, she was going to kill the damn stupid kids. Well, not in that way, but it held undertone. They were his fucking his responsibility.
He eventually reached the kid standing in the middle of the courtyard, the kid just stood there lost in thought. Placing his hands behind his back, hiding that hideous oh so glorious marking, he stood there staring at the young keyblader. he wondered what it was the boy was lost about. however just at same time he did not really care. well due to this boys crimes, it was time to take drastic actions, no more playing. This was to save them both, seriously how annoying this was.
Taking a deep breath, he spoke calmly... deathly... to the boy... his eyes no longer soft, no longer laughing at anything... No they held a yellow with red tint mixed, it wasn't too much at the boy.. More at her, why did she come now? Why did she have to do this too him? Did he not deserve better? Why just because he wanted a sense of "freedom", why because he lived too long in the light? Actually grown to be "nicer". Ugh! What the hell was her Problem! All because he lost his stupid keyblade to a kid?! "Are you better than this? Than killing those beneath you?"

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain "Are you better than this? Than Killing those beneath you?" Mikhail turned quickly, keyblade ready. That sounded like.... "Nagi."For a minute, Mikhail didn't respond. He had been startled: not just by the voice, but by the question itself. As he stood there, staring back at the creepy red-gold eyes glinting in the dark, his grip on Oathkeeper tightened. One thing was sure... Nagi had watched him slay Heartless. Whatever followed, the Shadow would probably be ten times more hostile than he had been before. All the same... Mikhail wouldn't attack Nagi. He would wait. Wait and see what he wanted. Even though he wouldn't admit it (even to himself), the keyblader had been waiting for this. The second game. There was no use in coming up with some fake answer, in pretending that he might be sympathetic. It was fairly clear where Nagi's allegiance lay. Once again, Mikhail decided to answer honestly. What was the point of lying? "It's not a matter of better or worse. They put everyone within their reach in peril. I don't kill them because they're beneath me. How do you justify devouring hearts?"

The boy held so much hatred, what was his deal? Should it not be the heartless be more angry than he? For this boy was killing them with absolutely no remorse, heartless had feelings too... Or did they? You know, he truly knew nothing about those creatures his master supposedly created... Just he was meant to leave them be, and that they never strike up a good conversation. All they seemed to do is bounce or speak with some odd audio voice. Either way she demanded it of him.
After a minute of little to response, the boy eventually responded with his answer and of course a question. Oh? So were they going to continue what held before? Or... Was one of them to attack first? Why he decided to see exactly what was bothering the boy, to see what it'll take to get this boy to start the battle. More of a tease? Though, it was clear, his Master did not want this boy leaving so easily. Its sad really, he couldn't just walk away this time, there will be a battle...
Well at least the boy's shield was cracked, no more... What was the term? Stoned? No, that was not it... Cold as ice of a shoulder... You know what, forget this. The boy just seemed more like glass, shattered glass... Why there were so many cracks, what had happened to this poor little soul?
He raised himself back up, in thought of the question. There really was no true answer, he only did it to survive, is that what this was all? Survival? He took a step back in thought, his right hand scratching his chin in thought. The new snake marking clearly showing on the back, the silly shadow had forgotten about it after meeting the boy. Why even the bits of red seemed to disappear with growth of curiosity. "How do you justify the night sky? It is what brings out the light."
While the boy chewed on that, Nagi began looking around for any sort of weapons of defense. Sadly it looked all there was out here was two chairs and a table. Did this town have to be so clean? Well a chair would be certainly useful, though it seemed a little... Dirtier than he would have liked. Why not the more direct approach? A little dodging, a little sleep, and a little dream.
Dreams, invincible, fairground for all? Where they not? Well, no... But who cares? Why he could actually get the dream to just look and feel like this place, sure in heat of the moment the boy wouldn't even notice the transfer... That was... If the boy even attacked... Maybe a push? "Something happened? Losing to Emilio? Again?"
It was a guess, he really had no idea... But if Emilio felt he could beat this boy so easily, and he trained Emilio to be such a good fighter... Usually the losers were so easily picked on... Almost like careless sheep trying to prove something, little heroes searching for strength. The losers weren't the heroes in the stories, no... It was those... Shining brightly in the light, not wondering in the dark lost... murdering those in the shadows with no care in the world.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain "How do you justiy the night sky? It is what brings out the light."Mikhail furrowed his brow. Really? Is that what Nagi thought? The line between light and dark was clear... one could exist without the other. We don't need the dark. But... was the distinction really that clear. Memories started to flicker through his mind in black and white. The lies. Those cunning little lies and deceptions... the suggestions and manipluations. A tweak here, a nudge there... just to get someone moving in the right direction. No one who knew could deny that Mikhail lied without compunction, as long as the end was "right." Some people.. some people would think his actions came straight from the dark. Was it true? Was he ... wrong to kill Heartless without a second thought? No. Mikhail's eyes shifted to a deep, dusk-purple. No it wasn't wrong. Axyl. His best friend. The Heartless devoured both of their hearts, stole them away, bent them into something poor, something less than what they really were. And they wouldn't hesitate to do the some to other innocent people. Pushing down a surge of disgust, Mikhail tightened his grip on Oathkeeper. "Something happened? Losing to Emilio? Again?"It was like being doused with cold water. Mikhail drew himself up, a slight frown on his face. Nagi had touched a nerve: not just because the thought of losing to Emilio stung, but becasue his recent loss had been weighing on him not four minutes ago. "What are you talking about?" Mikhail's voice was sharp. Breathe in. Calm down. Why was he so... angry? Mikhail walked forward, advancing until he was just outside of striking distance. "What do you want?"

The boy's eyebrow furrowed, was it that hard to understand? Or was it just that crazed? Never know, it was like something tasty. Naturally you enjoy the taste of food to eat more, yet does it not make you eat too much? Was Light or darkness the same? Both you need, but too much is bit unhealthy and foolish?
He watched the boy closely all the little quirks and reactions, while he knew nothing of went through the boy's mind, it did bring a slight joy he was getting better at reading the boy... or was that just the armor showing more and more cracks? One can never tell anymore, almost like a memory.
Mmmm? The boy was suddenly drawing himself up? Why look there, a sweet frown on his face. Good times, ahh good times. What was he talking about? Why... Everything! Anything! Haha, how little he knew... yet how much? before he could take any sort of action the walked suddenly closer, just basically outside striking distance... Too bad... for the boy, Nagi pride himself on his agility movement skills.
The boy asked what was he wanted..? Well, not even he knew any longer. He had no real freedom, just to follow and protect her. Quick without the boy even noticing he hit a pressure point causing the boy to fall into a bit of slumber, so the real fun begins? Quickly Nagi moved into the boy's head to create a scene much similar what they had just felt and seen, only instead of what was actually happening in the real world Nagi was still apart from the boy out of striking distance. If anyone was to pass by, the would see two young man asleep in the courtyard.
Still in original position, still same lighting and air... Nagi still standing across... He still lost in thought, nothing that of a dream. With a slight sigh Nagi decided to answer the honest truth or was it really a lie? "Not what I want, but what she wants. As mere servant I have no wants." He paused before continuing, "what she wants... Is you..." His eyes went a bit sharp, though he made no real action to attack, merely spoke dramatic words. oh always with the dramatic words.
His eyes went softer again, "Will you not tell me your side of the story?" He suddenly sat indian style down on the cold ground, damn he was doing it again... That need to procrastination on his job, it was almost addicting. He could just feel that damn brand burning telling him to stop messing around, to take them down... All of them. Course' this was all his imagination, but where imagination comes from, there is but truth behind it.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain One minute, the Shadow stood before him. The next minute, Mikhail's eyes flickered shut... his knees gave way and he collapsed to the ground. But he never felt the impact. Before the keyblader even hit the ground, he was deep, deep in sleep. The transition was so smooth, Mikhail only felt a vague, sudden sense of disorientation. It was just a strange sensation, one that Mikhail assumed came from Nagi, but the reason for it was more than he could fathom. He didn't know that he was no longer awake. No longer in the real world. Something felt off... as it does when you return to a room where everything's been shifted ever so slightly. Nagi sighed. Mikhail waited, feeling somehow more vulnerable. It was like... like all of his emotions were amplified.... magnified. Now that they were, in a sense, in Mikhail's head, all of the memories and feelings he kept under control, that he suppressed and pushed down, boiled up to the surface. "Not what I want, but what she wants. As mere servant I have no wants." Mikhail's eyes narrowed, but his pulse quickened. At last, some real information. Nagi did serve a master. Who? Who was she? Assuming, of course, that the Shadow wasn't lying. "What she wants.... is you..."
Mikhail drew in a sharp breath. Nagi's words seemed to echo in the empty courtyard: listening to the Shadow say this as he stood alone, in the dark, sent a shock of cold fear through him. "Me... What do you mean... Who is she?"Now Nagi was sitting down on the ground, a softer look in his eye, asking for Mikhail's side of the story... He snapped. Mikhail leaned forward. His irises were almost black, his lips curled in a snarl. "You," he hissed, "What do you care? Why does it matter to you? It's my turn for a question now. Who is your master? What does she want with me?"The anger surged through him like black water: Mikhail was going to drown. Drown in that morass of resentment and fear. Just as he was about to grab Nagi by the collar, Mikhail stopped, alarmed by his own sudden malice. Taking a deep breath, he slowly started to draw his hand back. @nagi ### meh. bleh. next one will be better. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Mmm? such a strong reaction, so weak in your own shell? Really? Is there not a better place to play? It was fair-game, was it not? He watched the boy curious, pulling at his feet almost like a little child at a carnival. What was it going to? What are you going to say? The he asked why she chose him, why must they always ask that? Almost like they're scared to be chosen for anything. No wonder the light used them so much, such weak saps who never believe in themselves, so easily pushed around to do its dirty work. Why, how could he not know how he was destined for greatness? Well... Then again... Compared to his protege? Was he really?
Then of course' there was that that over reaction to simple home life question. Why was a good normal conversation so wrong? Why he himself had two caring parents, came from a pitiful boring world, the ability to travel made things so much more fun. Now why did he care? Really, the boy had to ask? Weakness, obviously. Though there was a little fact that this boy was losing it, completely losing it won't help anything what-so-ever...
Why he would get so consumed by his own darkness, there really was no point in Nagi even being here... Where was the fun in that? Practically made his job useless, see Emilio it makes a difference. There was no point training students from young age who are already heading to their own darkness. Why they just wondered there on their on with no push or pull. Then of course... There was this little sudden tantrum, he had to take the damn responsibility if the kid lost it. Ugh, why couldn't his mistress stay away? With her beautiful, magnificence wondrous, just ugh. Now, if the boy was to go berserk or some other nonsense, how will it help anyone?
Light could really really pick'em, almost waste of strategy and time. Or was it really all to make those who are bright, shine even brighter than before? Ha! It was all a game wasn't it?! Create darkness around the light to make the light stronger, while at same time controlling that darkness. Oh! Hoho! It certainly knew how to play into the hands of order and "balance". It wanted total control without anyone even noticing, all a little game of "fate". But you see, that was not going to work, not with the darkness true ruler active.
The boy threatened with a question? That he had a right to ask Nagi a question? No! this is not how this was going to be played! This was not part of the rules of the game, though while this agitated nagi, it really seemed to bother that damn boy. The boy suddenly came toward Nagi planning to grab the heartless by the collar, a rather slight boring move really. Almost like he was desperate, oh how nagi wanted to smile a bit crazed smile.
Slowly the boy took a large deep breath, then began drawing his hand back. Nagi raised an eyebrow slightly not impressed, his eyes once again spec with bits of red, "Done?" He asked in a calm almost deathly voice before deciding to speak again. "Now, sit. We both seek answers, let's get down to business." He waited few seconds before speaking again, "It is still my turn as you did not actually answer the question. Want to know about my Master? Want to know what she is really after? Well answer my question, and honestly."
He waited calmly for the boy to reply, if the boy planned to attack he would just hit a Nagi that'll turn to smoke and vanish as if defeated. Though, that was really just beginning if he so choose this path. A rather rockier, less calm path, one requiring fighting. Nagi rather disliked pointless fighting, though he did find quite bit of joy screwing those who wanted to fight.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain "Done?" Mikhail pulled his hand back without speaking, a little ashamed of himself. The intensity of his reactions puzzled him: he wasn't prone to over-reactions, to such bitter outbursts. Just calm down, you idiot. Don't blow this chance to learn something valuable... "Now, sit. We both seek answers let's get down to business." Mikhail sat down and rested his fore-arms on his knees. "It is still my turn as you did not actually answer the question. Want to know about my Master? Want to know what she is really after? Well answer my question, and honestly."It wasn't easy, telling Nagi his story. Mikhail took a moment to consider the best way to approach Nagi's demands. As distasteful as recounting his history to the Shadow might be, the potential gains were too great to ignore. Of course, the information trade might be a complete illusion. Still: it would be foolish to let this chance go. Keeping his voice calm and even, Mikhail gave Nagi a brief sketch of his life, leaving out the names of his parents, friends, and home world. Mikhail chose his stories carefully. Just enough to give Nagi a cursory idea of what he had done, what he had experienced. No details about his training, who his comrades were, or how the Keybladers operated. Axyls' name, and the fact that he had been a keyblader, were left unspoken. "Several years ago..."
Mikhail's voice faded. Silence settled over the courtyard. Expressionless, Mikhail stared at the horizon. Staring out into the dark, Mikhail told the next story with difficulty. It was hard just to get the words out. No one had ever heard this story. No one but Rose. Mikhail couldn't talk about that day without reliving it in his head. Even though he maintained his calm demeanor, his tone made it clear just how painful the memories were. "Several years ago... a horde of Heartless attacked my home city. No one saw them coming. They just... appeared out of nowhere. I was standing with my brother and a friend near the edge of the city when the invasion started... we were overwhelmed. i yelled for my brother to get out of there, but... he stayed and fought. he told me to run, not to look back... so i grabbed my friend's hand and dragged her after me. at the end of the street, i turned around to see if he was there... i saw him fall." For a second, Mikhail said nothing. Then he continued in a cold, level voice. "I tried to get her home. We were two streets away when the Heartless surrounded us. I was...too scared to move. she grabbed whatever she could get her hands on... a stone, i think... and rushed forward.... she was gone within seconds. the Heartless were distracted enough for me to..." Swallowing hard, Mikhail hung his head. @nagi ### bleh MADE BY VEL OF GS

He said not a word, nor had any real reaction to the boy's story. It finally ended, it seemed the boy was worn out from it all, such a pitiful fate really. Well with all the information given, he released a sigh before picking himself up. He held a hand out for the guy to help himself out, at least it seemed to calm done just a bit.
After offering hand, whether the guy accepted it or not, he soon after placed his hands into his pants pockets. He acted unsure on what to do next, though he knew it was time to fill in the information. Again he released a heavy sigh, before looking at the boy a slight kinder smile than before on his face. The specs from his eyes vanished leaving only a calm yellow.
"My Master wants to prevent further spread of the heartless sickness. She needs those who have strong hearts wielding keyblades to help fight it, not only to free worlds, but to stop the spreading. Her main goal is to restore the true peace that was broken hundreds years ago during the keyblade wars. So that there would be no more out of control heartless tearing places apart without a thought." He paused looking around as if slightly guilty at his species and his own actions, "We're not all completely bad. You know. " he paused as if lost in thought of past memories of his own people, "there are others who are actually kind and gentle, even go so far as across the universe to find a new place to call home. Don't judge them for my own actions, or those trapped in the Heartless sickness form. Though, I am so lowly creature of evil. I will take my leave, sorry for what had happened to you.
He gave another guilty sigh before starting to walk away, his should slumped like he was in utter defeat. All he honestly could think of was what his Master really planned to do to achieve her ultimate goal. While what he said was "technically" true, some of it was "technically" not completely true. She wanted to revise the world, mainly to rule it, but she wanted to revise it. He didn't know where she had been in the past years, but something horrible must have happened by the sudden growth of these creatures, something had made her lose control... Whatever it was, it was to be blamed, it was the true enemy in all this.

ALL THOSE MOMENTS will be lost in time like tears in rain Nagi sighed, stood up, and offered his hand. For a moment, Mikhail looked at Nagi with plain distrust. Then, slowly, he gripped the Shadow's hand and stood up, making sure, however, to rise without supporting himself through Nagi's grasp. "My Master wants to prevent further spread of the heartless sickness. She needs those who have strong hearts wielding keyblades to help fight it, not only to free worlds, but to stop the spreading. Her main goal is to restore the true peace that was broken hundreds years ago during the keyblade wars. You know, there are others who are actually kind and gentle... Don't judge them for my own actions, or those trapped in the Heartless sickness form... I will take my leave, sorry for what happened to you."The Heartless sickness? Rose had never mentioned a sickness before... was this another lie? Heartless were darkness incarnate... right? Maybe it wasn't even possible for a Heartless to have any good qualities. But, honestly, Mikhail couldn't say without a doubt that Nagi's claims were false. As suspicious as the keyblader felt, he would remember Nagi's words. How? How did this Shadow make him second-guess something he had taken for granted from the first moment he summoned a keyblade? And... even though he knew he was being manipulated, Mikhail felt some comfort when Nagi expressed sympathy. That kind of support wasn't something he often heard. Mikhail never asked for it. Hated being pitied. Never opened up. But that never meant he didn't need the encouragement. This Master... she sounded.... almost noble. More lies? Or was she just using Nagi as a piece in her greater game, the way.... the way Mikhail had done with others in the past. Shoulders slumped, Nagi began to walk away. No. Not yet. He had to know...
