Appearance

Cory's hair and his glasses are his two most striking features. His ear piercings have great sentimental value for him and he refuses to take them out. Unknown to most people, Cory has a tattoos, a crown on his left shoulder blade.

Personality

Cory has major issues with his parents. He doesn't outright hate them but is full of resent towards them. This has led to a jaded personality. He is usually quiet and tries to stay out of the spotlight. Kind of hard with who his parents are but he has tried. Cory tends to be kind of a sarcastic asshole whenever he speaks.

When he makes connections with people, he tends to open up a bit more with them, and they can see under the "I hate my parents" exterior. As it is though, Cory has a hard time keeping friends he makes as he will inevitably push them away because of his personality.

History

Cory Kinsley was born the only child of two Keyblade Masters. Despite having a child, the two masters were both much too preoccupied with protecting the various worlds to spend time raising their son. Oh they would take Cory with them of course, and then leave him with allies while they fought off the darkness seeking to corrupt the worlds. When Cory was seven his father even completed the Keyblade inheritance ritual with him, ensuring that the boy would one day have a keyblade of his own.

For years after they would continue to fight darkness while neglecting their son. Little did they know that would cause him to resent his parents and the roles they held as protectors. He would begin to wander off during their missions and explore the worlds, despite his parents' orders to stay put. It finally culminated when Cory met a strange person while his parents were fighting the darkness. This person fascinated Cory with displays of magic that the boy had never seen before, magic of darkness.

Though he never saw the stranger again, Cory began training himself in dark magic. It was all secret of course and he eventually began requesting to remain behind on the Land of Departure whenever his parents went out on missions. Despite all his hard work and research though, Cory couldn't work magic on his own, a failure in his own eyes. To relieve his frustrations the boy, now in his teens, would spar with whomever was in the Land of Departure. The more frustrated he was with his lack of success in magic, the longer and harder he sparred. It wasn't long before he was regarded as one of the best swordsman in that world, a title that rang hollow in his ears.

Having long forgotten the Inheritance ritual his father completed with him all those years past, Cory was shocked when he dreamed of a Dive to the Heart. He woke up and was startled when he managed to summon his father's keyblade without any trouble. He later learned that his parents had been on an assignment and had gone missing. The Master of Land of Departure surmised that because Cory now had his father's keyblade, Oblivion, that the man had perished. Cory played his part, and faked devastation over the loss of his parents and sorrow that he had not been with them. It was later that Cory discovered he could now work magic. He began to doubly apply himself to magic, though it wasn't his strength he would make it his own.

It has now been two years since his parent's demise.
