Personality

Prone to making sarcastic comments and overall being silly, Caleb and the word “serious” seldom go hand in hand. Caleb is prone to firing off retorts at any given moment, and as a result he is typically seen as the life of the party whenever he’s among friends. With his older brother, Caleb is a bit more vitriolic and prone to being a bit meaner than normal; however, he also sees his brother as something of competition. True, he places great emphasis on the safety of his family, but with regards to his brother, Caleb would love nothing more than to knock him down several pegs.



With special regards to his father, Caleb harbors a great sense of resentment yet a begrudging sense of respect for the man that Abram Vanheart was. In the past, Caleb had considered his father to be nothing more than a spiteful man who was never truly satisfied with anything that was done. Not to suggest that his father was ever physically abusive, Caleb never takes kindly to the implication that his father was ever anything more than a dutiful man. Caleb has readily admitted he isn’t sure if he hates the man or if he genuinely loves his father yet wishes he was less demanding. After a particularly tragic event, Caleb had begun to regard his father a bit more kindly even if they still clashed over what the boy was doing with his life. It disturbs Caleb greatly that he was not there for his father’s funeral and indeed having not seen him while he was off hunting down monsters.
