Appearance |
Clothing Gideon stands at roughly five feet nine inches, and has a weight of one hundred and fifty three pounds. The hair atop his head is a fiery red color and as if to match the hue his hair is typically wild, and unruly. Coming down to hang in front of his face and hide his crimson red eyes from the view of others. While Gideon prefers to leave his hair alone, he understands that not every situation allows for him to look like a mess and thus, when dealing with formal matters he will style his hair accordingly. Often slicking it back and making sure that none of it hides his face from view Gideon's body is rather muscular having spent all of his life either working, or fighting and as such it's what to be expected. What someone might find unusual about and out of place on his toned body are the scars that are littered across his back. They don't seem to placed in any particular order but it's not hard for one to notice that they were placed their with enough force to haunt him for the rest of his days. Of course you are only able to see the scars on Gideon's body when his clothing and armor are removed. There is also a circle like scar running around Gideon's neck, and while he does his best to hide it's pretty hard not to see. |
Personality |
A lot of things could have gone horribly wrong for Gideon that turned him into an awful person that hated the world around him. Luckily he had someone within his corner that helped make sure his heart stayed within the safety of the light. He is a surprisingly caring individual despite all the hardship that has taken place within his life, he sees suffering and can't help but relate to the struggles that the one's suffering have gone through. It's for this same reason that Gideon could even be seen as an emphatic person being able to relate to a wide variety of emotions and situations. He also carries himself with a certain amount of pride if only to help sell the elven blood within himself, in truth Gideon is often times unsure of himself and the actions he takes. He doesn't let this uncertainty cloud his thoughts however, he charges forward bravely into the face of any situation. Though while Gideon himself calls it bravery he has often times heard others tell him that he is reckless, he doesn't look before he leaps and is more often willing to think on the fly then come up with any kind of pre-planned strategy. He's a stubborn person often times finding it hard to let anything go, in fact his fellow mercenaries have even said that Gideon is too stubborn to die. Which brings us to perhaps one of Gideon's more present traits, he refuses to give up hope. If he can still move his legs, his arms still work, and his heart's still beating then you can bet that Gideon is going to keep pressing on. Despite his age Gideon can be a bit childish, and while some may be able to find this an endearing trait others might find it a bit annoying. The young man hate's to be tied down, due in part to having spent a large chunk of his life in chains and forced to do the work of others. His time as a slave has made Gideon value freedom and become a venturesome spirit, it has also made him hate those who oppress others, this hatred burns so deep that when dealing with these kinds of people Gideon can lose himself. Gideon hates feeling weak, and this often time conflicts with how he's really feeling on the inside. Why? Because he quietly beats himself up over the loss of his sister Leela, often thinking that if he had stronger or braver she wouldn't have had to give herself to the darkness. This very thinking is the drive behind a lot of Gideon's actions; he needs to be strong to ensure he's never faced with such a situation again. He must also be careful though because the desire for power brings forth darkness towards the heart a lesson he has seen first hand on many an occasion. |
History |
Gideon was born on Iioador a world filled to the brim with many races, the most common of the two being humans and elves. The offspring of a human and an elf is called a half elf, and Iioador these twin natured beings are shunned. In fact they are treated as less than human and less than elf and in a dark twist of fate the enslavement of Half-Elves is a highly common practice in Iioador. In fact it's not entirely uncommon for half-elves to be born into slavery, and Gideon along with his sister Leela were both born into it. Their parents both half-elves whose names aren't important were both captured and enslaved during an early portion of their life, but that didn't stop them from having the hope of raising a family. Unfortunately after Gideon's birth their mother passed away, the strain of birthing him having been far too much for her to handle. As an almost directly result of this their master had Gideon and Leela's father killed, having felt as though it was entirely his fault that a good worker had been lost. This caused for Gideon to be raised by one of the other Half-Elves within the compound until he was old enough for his sister to care for him directly, which she did with a fiery passion. Gideon was the only thing she had left in the world so it was only natural for her to cling to him and be protective of the only family she had. By the time Gideon was eight he was already working for his owner, because of his young age he was privileged enough to work directly with the master. Filling his cups, running his errands, and a variety of other tasks. When he wasn't doing his 'job' he was his sister, and while he would often question why they couldn't just run away she would tell him to hush. Leela would tell the young Gideon that running wouldn't do them any good as long as the collars were around their necks. The collars were imbued with a magic energy that sent an electric shock through anyone that attempted to pass the boundary line without permission. He was told by his sister that he shouldn't allow himself to be angry, that he shouldn't let hatred cloud his thoughts. Which he found so very hard to do, but because he cared enough for his sister he tried to keep his anger at bay. When things got too much for him to handle he would picture sleeping at his sister's side, the sound of her breathing relaxing him. It was the only truly happy place that he could go, and as he grew older he would go back to that memory more and more. Everything changed within Gideon's life when he was fourteen though. The master had a visitor from another compound come by and word amongst the slaves was that he was seeking to buy one of them. It was also rumored that this man liked to dismember his slaves when they failed him. The visitor in question spent his first day amongst them going from person to person and inspecting them; if he was going to buy one of them then it would be the best one. When he met with Gideon, the young man couldn't help but shake an evil aura escaping from him. He wasn't that worried though, he wouldn't be taken away from his sister right? Leela seemed to think otherwise, because when Gideon woke up a few days later his sister wasn't with them in the sleeping quarters. He did catch sight of her running towards the mansion and he stood there waiting for her to come back out. When she finally did step back out from the inside of mansion things were different, she was different. She had the same dark aura he had felt escaping from the man that had visited, but it was almost worse. He tried to ask her what was wrong but she gave him no reply, and instead turned her attention towards the compound. Letting loose fire from her fingertips that burned everything down, and freed them from their shackles, they were now free. Freedom came with a price however, and that price was his sister. In return for whatever she had allowed to happen to herself, she vanished. Gideon didn't do much with his freedom at first, wandered around aimlessly looking for his sister who he was so sure was still around somewhere. A lot of that first year of his free life is a haze to the young man, if only because the depression he had felt was thick. He was only pulled free from it by a group of mercenaries who oddly enough were willing to take him in. They had seen Gideon defend himself from a group of bandits and they recognized the raw talent within him. Thus began his life of training, and his slowly climb to build the personality he has at this current time. Gideon's eighteen now and no longer on his homeworld having fallen asleep there only to wake up at Twilight Town, dazed and confused. |
