CALCIFER ASHUR ROMINOFF
PANDORA HEARTS, xerxes break, CALCIFER ROMINOFF
|
Appearance |
Much like his Hover Image. His hair is white with a hint of light pink or purple, very light. Its quite short and well kept, his bangs coming to fall over his right eye, keeping it completely hidden from the view of outsiders. He is rather sub-conscious about his right eye as it is a silvery white rather then the crimson red. This eye of him allows him to basically play "Spot the Difference." Its the reason he's so good at playing with cards or with chess. It allows him to notice things that most people wouldn't, including that of behavior. Its a focusing trick. He's able to catch pick pockets and thieves with his white eye as it has a mind of it's own. When the bangs are shifted away, his white eye gains control and shows him what he needs to see. Calcifer has a rather interesting taste in clothes, seeking out very nice, intricate, noble-like clothes. He enjoy's looking the best in the room and can get a bit testy when someone looks better than he. He not only dresses himself well, he keeps his body clean and tidy, hating the appearance of dirt if he can get around it. |
Personality |
OFFWHITE: Upon first impression, Calcifer could seem on the pleasurable gentlemanly side. He is a nobleman after all. He dressed well, and is rather laid back in personality. He can even be charming, especially to the ladies. This is his front. The mask that stands in front of all his quirks and habits. However, upon closer inspection, there are deep hints and signs that his mind is certainly not completely there. An aura of Off-white is his paint. He seems like a good person, but has subtle evidence pointing in other, more unpleasant directions. CHILLAX: For the most part Calcifer is a really calm character. He even talks in a rather quiet tone of voice. Hey, why should he have to speak any louder? If people want to ignore him, then he's totally fine with cutting their voice box open. Of course... There is some grace if the room is louder then he. He understands. Though, he isn't really too sociable in crowds. He'd much rather stick to a small group of three people at the most. If not then he's rather quiet in general, Preferring to sit and listen to information being spoken and file it away in the hidden depths of his vast mind. UPREDICTABLE: Its kinda funny really, how strangely Calcifer's mind works. He's definitely caught up in the inner workings of Wonderland, its quite obvious, as he can be very unpredictable. His responses to other people's behavior may vary. Depending on who they are, he'll either respond with violence, reverse psychology, Manipulative tactics, or he won't respond at all. Whatever seems amusing at the time. He is rather amused quite easily by things that would normally churn the stomach. INFORMATION SEEKER: Oh, dear Calcifer certainly loves information. Especially the juicy kind. While he may be a part of Vincent's underground system, don't think he doesn't have his own system running around. Just because Vincent's his friend doesn't mean he can have the info that Calcifer's achieved for free. He's a businessman too, just on a much smaller scale then that of the infamous Vincent Kammerer. He can be easily won over if given important pieces of information, although don't expect him to be all nicie nice if your piece of info turns out to be false. Well... Actually you may expect nice, but don't expect to get away unscathed. He will find you. LADIES MAN: To all those ladies out there, Calcifer has a rather charming atmosphere to him. He's very attracted to the ladies and can make himself as pleasant as possible to be able to get his hands on some of them. These are his main targets. Though its still like walking on egg shells with him, any wrong move and he could be thrown off the deep end. If provoked, he has been known to be rather rough and violent with them... So girls should beware. SADISTIC: What Wonderland character doesn't come out sadistic in one form or fashion or another? While he may seem like a proper kind of person on the surface, if gotten to know better it becomes quite obvious just how off the edge this boy really is. He really truly loves the sight of blood and horrific accidents. However, He's a very "in the moment" kind of person. Instead of keeping people locked up he moves based on how he's feeling. Be very careful that you don't let your guard down around him. There is a very blurred line between that of being in a good mood and feeling upset, insecure, or Threatened. He doesn't change his mask much. If he's upset, you probably won't know it. Either way, its either out of his insecurities or out of amusement. IMAGINARY FRIENDS: Yeah so... Calcifer has these imaginary friends that follow him around. They are part of the reason he can be so violent or unsettling sometimes. Its almost like an entire story in his head with different characters all playing some special part. Each one is a character from the Alice in wonderland story that is told so much in wonderland. The main characters would be Alice, Hatter, the March Hare, and the Cheshire cat. He's never really known the difference from the story in the book that his maid used to read to him every night, or the story in his own head. His imaginary friends have followed him since he was young and he couldn't imagine living life without them. Sometimes its difficult for him to tell the difference between his head and reality, but he does know the characters by heart and then knows who was not part of the original story. So real friends, like Vincent, will be treated differently then that of his imagination. However, that doesn't mean they are of less value to Calcifer. just of a different standing. OCPD: While he doesn't stress out about symmetry, He does have a difficult time with the way people dress and hold themselves, and the way a room looks. He has been known to pull out hairs that stick out of the top of someone else's head because it bothers him. He'll do it with a completely straight face too. He is rather calm on the outside about it, but this would have to be one of his greatest flaws. Sometimes he pays too much attention to detail and not enough to the bigger picture. He can be bothered by things though, like a piece on a chess board that is crooked or a page in a book is bent even the slightest. It doesn't help at all that his seeing ability will direct him to those kinds of details and make it completely worse. PARANOID: While he may not seem like it, and could probably hold himself very well in a fight, Calcifer is absolutely paranoid. Especially when it comes to some of the other characters in his mind's story. Sometimes he has to be wary of Alice cause she could switch personalities at any notice, or the rabbit could come into play. The rabbit being more of a scary monster. The Jaberwaky is a big fear of his and he's very careful to keep out of their way when this kind of thing happens. If in a paranoid state it is quite obvious. His entire demeanor will shift into something very insecure and very unstable. Acting skittish or uncertain are signs of this. The worse his mind imagines, the worse his behavior will get. The worst would be ending up hiding in his dark closet with the light off for several days. COLLECTION: While he's not big on collecting a lot of things, he truly does love his knife and dagger collection. Most of them are collectable, expensiveCrw |
History |
There were three children in the Rominoff family. The eldest was the beautiful Evangeline. The second was the clever Ivy. The last, and long awaited, child was the sweet and gentle Calcifer Ashur. The boy never cried. Never whined. And he was always smiling. This went on even up to the age of five years old. That was when Alex became desperate. As the head of the whole of Rominoff family and the family inheritance, Alex needed an heir, and he preferred the heir to be male. He was really pleased when his son was born even if he was the third child, but was disappointed to find that he wasn't what he was looking for as a family head. So on his fifth birthday, Alex went to find an instructor to teach Cal the necessities of becoming family head. He found a mysterious wizard that went by the name of Damian. Damian was a private tutor for wealthy families. He would teach anything the parents wanted taught. So Alex invited him to his house to take a look at little Calcifer. Damian was unimpressed with Calcifer's personality and agreed that he would be needed to help change the boy's attitude. He agreed to the invitation under the condition that Calcifer be trained and kept separate from the rest of his family. He stated that it would be easier for the boy to concentrate on his studies without the distractions. Alex hesitantly agreed against the will and protests of his wife. He separated out the entire east wing of his estate for his son and instructor. Special house elves were stationed in this area to care for Calcifer's everyday needs. As required, Calcifer would be taught respect, confidence, pride, several european languages, basic magic, how to read and write, math, history, horseback riding, and speech lessons. anything that Damian might think he would need would also be added to the list. Hand-to-Hand and weapon combat was included in that list. So the two agreed. On his 11th birthday, Calcifer would be introduced back into the family to see how he would react to them. And this was the day Calcifer became lonely. He had been fond of his sister Ivy when she hadn't been by herself. But now it was only him and the maids, of whom he began to cherish greatly. The first two years were very much what had been agreed on with Alex being the only human to visit Calcifer every other week to see how his training was coming along. But nothing seemed to have changed about the boy except that he had developed a great sadness. He was excited to share with his father all the things he had learned, but nothing about his personality seemed to be changing the boy so he began to doubt Damian's abilities. So Alex decided to take his training to the next level. With an interesting smile Damian agreed. So a new level of training was started for the boy. Exercises of importance. At least that was what Alex thought was going on. Damian had promised excellence by the boy's 11th birthday, and that was what he was going to achieve. Damian began to use other means of training. Experiments and exercises that strained Calcifer's Emotions, Mental Capacity, Body, and Behavior. Often times going a little too far or a lot too far. Although, instead of making The young Cal better, he started to get worse. Talking about imaginary people and stories. Constantly making up things to get out of trouble, or telling Damian that his friends told him too. He grew violent, finding anything he could to hurt Damian when he had the chance. Although, Damian was much more experienced in these matters and would win every fight. For a long time he wouldn't hurt the maids that would come and wait on him. But it wasn't long before he started hurting them as well when he would become upset. Suddenly feeling worried Damian knew that he wouldn't be able to pull this new behavior out of Calcifer. So he would have to start adding some new behaviors in. The Mask was most important. Always look better then you feel. Conceal don't feel basically. Calcifer grabbed onto this idea fairly quickly. Creating quite a good mask over his imaginary friends and insecurities. On nights that Calcifer was uncooperative, Damian would lock him in a dark cellar room, listening close by as he screamed and cried the night away, begging for Damian to let him out of the room. He would learn his lessons. Although would often come out terribly scratched up as if he himself would tear into his face, arms, and stomach. He would heavily insist on it being the Jabberwocky. Something that Damian never understood. He quickly realized that he had to somehow lessen the behavior or the father would become very suspicious. He was able to teach Calcifer to keep any pain infliction away from his face. While the boy was introduced back into the family at the age of 11 Damian did not leave, knowing that the boy was clearly unstable. So he watched Calcifer for a long time. His habits seemed to have gotten better for about two years until his father started pushing more weight and responsibility on him. Calcifer's behavior got worse as that year went on. He was harsh on the maids especially. They became major targets for him. For awhile Damian was able to hide all of his slip ups and violent mistakes. They weren't as bad as all that, he didn't do any serious damage or kill anyone. It was mostly biting and scratching. But things started getting worse and worse. He would throw things at the family animals or toss priceless antics on the floor just to make his father mad. Damian, however, was always able to cover it up. At the age of 14 he ran into a boy just two years older then him. They bumped into each other at a nice noble party and Vincent pulled Calcifer into his lifestyle of being an information broker. Cal took to it very quickly. Even being able to hide it away from Damian as a type of revenge. Things at home got slightly better as he worked with Vincent a lot. Damian started to get suspicious, but waited patiently for the right time to deal with it. During this time, two major things happened. Vincent told him that he was the one who had killed the white rabbit simply over a cup of tea one day. At first Calcifer was shocked by the news, but quickly got over it. Several weeks later there was an accident. One that ended up with his eldest sister in the hospital and Ivy dead. No one but Damian was quite sure what happened, as Calcifer himself came out of the incident completely unscathed but very shocked. There was no culprit. Ivy was declared attempt suicide and Evangeline had absolutely no memory of the incident. The weeks after were difficult for Cal, as Ivy had become very close to his sister Ivy during the time he had rejoined the family. His behaviors shifted back and forth. Sometimes he acted strange, other times he was completely fine. However, it was also durning this time when Vincent got to witness Calcifer having a proper panic attack. The attack was soon calmed after some serious messing around and attempt comforting on Vincent's end. After about two years of this, Vincent came to Calcifer and told him that he had been found out and needed to leave Wonderland altogether. After being denied the chance to leave with him Calcifer put on his Mask and pretended to be alright. However, without the voice of the only person he considered a friend, his behavior got really bad. The only real voices he had to talk to were those of Alice, Hatter, March hare, and Cheshire Cat. Reality went on a tip. No one died, but there were several times where people got seriously hurt. Calcified, however, learned very easily how to cover these up. Pass them off as accidents. Course the ones that he couldn't cover up, Damian did. Several years after Vincent left, Wonderland began falling into the hands of the darkness. Through this Calcifer found out that it was a collection of Damian and his father who had found out about Vincent killing the rabbit and that it was them who told the queen about it. Furious Calcifer killed them both. His father first, with a couple knives from his growing collection. Then he snuck in and poisoned his teacher. Knowing no other way to be able to get back at him. The thrill of watching them both die was exhilerating and wonderful to the twisted mind of Calcifer. With that he left Wonderland, going out to find a place to restart. He came across Radiant Gardens and instantly fell in love with the light atmosphere of the light hearted place. He created a rather quaint tea shop that doubled as a gambling, information passing, dealing back area. He has yet to find his friend Vincent, but don't think he's missed the whisperings. |
