BREAK ME i'm still fighting for peace He threw his jacket onto his shoulder and hooked the mask to his belt. All set! Maybe he should throw away the old hoodie soon. He could get the smell out of it, most of the dirt. Probably patch up the holes pretty easily. But the blood stains were another story entirely.
“ Yeah, yeah. Of course.”
He followed his companion out of the bathroom. The teen thought his behavior was a little odd earlier, leaning against the wall wiping his nose. It was curious. If he remembered it after they found clothes and things, he'd ask. He didn't really feel like bringing it up at that very moment.
Not only did he look a bit better, but Carmen felt a lot better. Less self-conscious, more awake, more alive even. Though that last bit could be attributed to cleaning up like that in such a public place. It was outside the norm, even for him. And possibly against the rules.
There were so many vendors, he wasn't really sure where to start. So many different things were catching his attention. Little animal puppets to the right, some brightly colored costume hats with large plumes of feathers to his left. None of it was stuff that he needed, or really wanted. But it drew him in like a moth to a lamp light.
“It's all pretty eye-catchy.”
Carmen said with a laugh, scratching the side of his head. Clothes were the objective, and he needed to focus. No fluffy puppet animals or glow sticks. Clothes... Then maybe they could look at the other things. Maybe even rides. Dax seemed like the ride type? After all he was on one when they met...But also fluffy puppets. He had to look at them soon. They were just so adorable.
There was a strange assortment of clothes here. At least, by his standards. Everything was rather bright. Obvious fair clothes outnumbered the regular assortment. There was a ridiculous amount of tie-dye too. It made him shiver just looking at it. Some things he just couldn't understand, tie-dye was one of them.
“There's just so much stuff. It's crazy. Like it's ridiculously distracting.”
The teen glanced over at Dax, trying to make sure he was still around. He didn't want to lose him in the crowds. That would be the worst. The teen stopped in front of one of the larger shop set ups. The amount of incense they were burning in there burnt his nose, but the strangeness of it caught his attention. Most of it looked like stuff the neighbor witch might wear. All the way down to the pointy boots. It wasn't generally somewhere he would shop, but what could it hurt to look around? Maybe they had things that would find back home. Carmen turned to Dax and pointed into the shop.
“Wanna look around in here a bit? Then maybe over there?”
It was important to ask instead of just running in. After all, he was paying and Carmen didn't want to do anything that might make him uncomfortable. The second vendor he pointed at was right next door, all it had in it were clothes. Daxior, 521, i don't even know tbh

Watching the Somebody, Dax noticed huge change in behavior, like extreme happiness. Was that normal? To just jump with sudden excitement and happiness, should he take it to a Doctor or something? Should he be slightly worried, then again customers at the Tea shop seemed to instantly cheer up when they get freshly made tea. Maybe it was that little "heart" thing he didn't quite understand or felt? This oddly made him feel empty, just sudden emptiness like there was nothing there.
The boy began to run off deeper into the shopping district passing all the pretty bright colors, Dax was absolutely left no time to look at any of the store. He was practically to the point of pouting at how many pretty bright colored stores he passed. Every inch of his body was thankful when the Somebody finally stopped, did all Somebody's shop like this? What was the point of all the window shopping, it was exhausting not taking slow time looking.
Finally, absolutely finally. They stopped at a shop, Dax was leaning forward out of breath when the Somebody asked the question if they should look in there. Somewhere! They look inside somewhere! Dax's head perked up excited at finally looking into a shop, almost helpless sucker. "Yes, absolutely!" That was when he noticed what the shop even was, it brought his whole body crawling in shivers.
It wasn't the fact everything was dark, no no, it was just that everything was dark. Not exactly his bright color forte, he rather disliked anything that reminded him of heartless or really just heartless. Just this was first store they could go into, he desperately needed this, oh how he soo desperately needed this. Then it occurred to him, slinkies! There might be slinkies in there, cool skull related slinkies. The hope of possibilities made his sudden sadness turn to instant happiness, like a puppy offered treats. Quickly he followed Carmen deciding immediately he would head to odd item section, hopefully slinky section.

BREAK ME i'm still fighting for peace Carmen was taking his time looking over all the items. It was somewhat nostalgic. A lot of the things were reminiscent of the creepy stuff he used to find at shops back home. Only difference was this place didn't seem big on jarred oddities. That would have made it ridiculously similar to the ones at home.
It made him smile. But at the same time, there was a pang in his chest. It made him miss everything all the bit more. The teen shook his head and continued his search. Clothes, clothes, Aha! Pants. They weren't really what he would generally wear. They looked a bit snugger. Probably woman's jeans, but they were the right sizes on the tags. So it really didn't matter all that much. He wasn't going to be too picky. What mattered was they were dark in color. They also had neat little skull patches on the knees so why not.
He looked them over one more time. Holding them against his waist for a better idea on how they'd fit. Yeah, sure, they'll do. They were also pretty cheap so hey, that was a major plus. Carmen folded them up and glanced around for Daxior. Once he found him he slipped back over to him.
“Lookin' for slinkies?”
He asked curiously. Maybe a little louder than he should've, especially after sneaking up on the nobody. But it was in his nature, sort of. Catching people off guard, possibly spooking him. Maybe he should work on getting better at it. Scaring things that is.
Generally speaking wouldn't a toy be more found in the kids section than the odd items section? Though he wasn't going to bring that up. In case he was looking for something else. Or just passing time.

Nothing.. Nothing.. nothing. Where were the slinkies! He walked into the store hoping for something, anything.. But there was nothing.. but.. but.. What is this? a witch's broom? maybe he could like tie-dye it.... Or add pretty flowers to it. Suddenly there was a voice behind him that made him jump, "Lookin' for slinkies." He turned a shade of red, putting on a goofy relaxed smile, then rubbing the back of his hand with his right hand. "Yeah." he blinked several times away from the teen, before quickly changing the subject suddenly embarrassed for all of it. "ready to check out?" he asked, slight hope in his voice he couldn't hide.

BREAK ME i'm still fighting for peace Carmen let out a small laugh. A little proud of himself for managing to spook him. If only a little bit. It'd been ages since he was around anyone he could. Not that he was really good at it to begin with.
Of course he was looking for slinkies... Daxior was kinda easy to figure out. Almost too easy, Carmen had a feeling he was only scratching the surface with him though. At least there was no sign of ulterior motives yet. That was comforting.
“I knew it~. They'd probably be closer to the kid things... If this place has kid stuff.”
The teen glanced around again for a second. There was a possibility they did, but the chances seemed rather low...Ah well, from the sound of it Daxior wanted to move on. He did too, if he was honest. The quicker this was over with the quicker they could do something funner. At least, that's what Carmen hoped.
“More than ready, yeah.”
He said with a rather large smile, holding up the pants he found.

He felt a sudden wave of relief at moving on, hopefully prettier happier stores, maybe the fake magical flowershop across the way? The Carmen held the biggest smile ever, how he just wanted to squeeze the little Somebody right there and then.
Accepting the pant, Dax walked over to the counter, all decorated... With small trinkets for keychains and candy addictions. Why, he knew several Nobodies that would probably attack the "oddities" of candies. Laying the pants across the counter, something immediately caught his eye. Right there, Right there! A witch hate edition Slinky! It was about the same size of the cotton candy slinky, easily stored inside his clothing. Quickly he snatched the orange and black sucker off the shelf placed it ontop the pants. The big lady behind the counter, with this huge boil on her nose, looked down at him with the strangest of curious looks. Quickly after finishing checking out, he handed the teen the large back with the pants.
Once free of the pant responsibility, and of course' out of that horrid shop, He began to eye the slinky like it was biggest jawbreaker ever. After the moment had past of happiness and goal reached, he quickly swiped the slinky into his clothing, then turned to give the Somebody full attention. " Any specific store caught your eye for a new shirt? Would you rather just change, then get to carnival fun?" He asked, still unsure exactly how to treat the Somebody or act around the somebody. Somebodies were so complicated, almost like a game of chess.

stand up sing hallelujah He tried to stop himself from smiling a little too much. Last second and he managed to find a slinky. That's either determination, or witchcraft. Whatever it was, It made Carmen like Daxior more. It was one of the most amusing quirks/obsessions he'd ever come across. He waited patiently as he finished the transaction and took the bag happily.
“Not really....Oh god yes!” Carmen's eyes seemed to light up at the idea. It would be the best thing ever just to get on with the fun parts. Not that he wasn't enjoying himself right then. It'd been years since he'd been to a carnival. He was ready to do something other than shop. After all, most of the dirt on him was on his pants anyways. Carmen had a couple shirts on so he could easily just throw the dirtier layers off and be fine. More than fine actually.
If the teen wasn't giddy before, he was now. All thoughts of the puppets were practically wiped from his brain. Just excitement. Games, rides, everything. Carmen wasn't much of an adrenaline junky, in fact, he was the farthest thing from one. But right now, he was eager enough to go on everything. Twice. If that's what Daxior wanted.
“ Where do you want to start? Games, rides? Dude did you see that fun house back there? Oh wait, changing right right....Uhmm. Give me five seconds. ” Carmen's mind was going close to a mile a minute. However, he didn't see the need to run all the way back to the restroom to change. Why take the time? So with a wide grin on his face he held up a hand at Dax, before darting behind some of the shop buildings.
It was ridiculous, and probably illegal, but he managed to slip into a rather hidden spot. He changed as fast as possible. Okay maybe it was more like 5 minutes than 5 seconds. But the kid wasn't trying to be literal. He shoved the old pants, his old jacket, and one of his layered shirts into the bag. Carmen slipped back on his boots and bounced back over to Dax. Looking even more hyper than before.
"Okay so maybe I underestimated how long that would take."

The teen looked so happy! He had done something right, but what was it? Must have been buying things, of course' that was what it was... No, it had to be rides, the teen must love rides... Like all those other somebodies, that was it, had to be. Make Carmen's life as exciting and fun as he could, that was how to keep him forever. Pleasure, worked just like that one girl constantly drawing out his magic. Yes, pleasure was the best way to make a Somebody stay forever. Pleasure of giving, exploring, and exciting games.
Carmen began splattering about the various attractions, then quickly change subject to his pants. The teen was practically giddy at it all. The only thing Dax caught in all of it was that he was planning to change in 5 seconds, such fast time, was Somebodies speedsters at changing? Why how little his memories held about his old life as a Somebody, it was practically a whole new specimen by how he could remember. The teen ran off, specimen... The very thought crossed on various curious questions. What exactly was different from a Somebody than himself? Was it just the "heart" missing? Was there more? What did the teen look underneath all those clothes?
As the five seconds vanished, he decided to take a small peek... Figure out if maybe somebodies were some sort of android or alien in comparison to nobodies. The teen... Looked completely normal, so Nobodies an Somebodies were alike? Remembering the flashback of all the female somebodies yelling at him for peeking at their changing, he suddenly felt a tidbit awkward. Dax quickly backed away realizing the major difference between men and women were... Round blubbery objects on the chest.
The Somebody came back wearing the new pants, jumping in excitement at all they have to do. The enjoyment the somebody had just made tidbit of pride swell inside Daxior, yes he will try and make this boy's day be the best it ever was! Putting on an excitement face, mimic from all his childish moments pulling pranks.
Looking around, excited at sharing this great world with the new companion he couldn't decide were to go first. That was when he thought back to the somebody blabbering, he tried to pull the details. At first it was hard, but with fewer active memories than somebodies, it was became rather easy. Fun House, fun house! That was it they should go to this "fun" house, surely with somebodies naming it, must be truly fun? Though Somebodies were tricky, what if it wasn't exactly same sort of fun, as he had considered? "Lead the way to that Fun house, you spoke of earlier!" he spoke gleefully, happy to just have a companion to call his own.

all you sinners
stand up sing hallelujah He wants to go to the fun house, eh? It was a great place to start, not really as big of a thrill, but still plenty good. Carmen nodded happily.
“Ooh yes."
The teen turned in the direction of the funhouse and started walking towards it. Expecting Daxior to follow along. He hadn't really looked too closely at it when they walked past. It seemed like one of the larger ones. With the slow spinning tube of a walkway and the maze of mirrors in the front part. No doubt it had even more stuff inside.
Carmen had a very obvious bounce to his steps. He felt like his excitement might seem ridiculous to some. But if they only knew everything he'd been through lately. If they'd been through it themselves, they'd be just as excited. Like a kid in a candy store.
“I haven't been in one since I was like...Ten? I used to trip my way across the rollers they had in the floor...”
He said gleefully. Obviously it was a nice memory for him now. Definitely not something he enjoyed at the time. He held onto the railings, but still ended up tripping his way down the pathway like some drunk cartoon character. It'd be different now of course. The boy had gotten better coordination wise. Carmen started walking backwards, towards the fun house. So he could look at Daxior as he spoke.
“Have you been in one before?”
There were so many better questions that Carmen had for his companion. But he was in no rush to get to the serious things. He was too busy living in the moment.

Dax followed close behind Carmen, curious as to what this "fun" house had. Reaching the main entrance he noticed all teh various colors and designs, it instantly touched his colorful heart. Though he could not help but wonder why this was exciting, but why slinkies were not. Somebodies, they were such odd species, one he could never understand. It was like Hot was cold, and cold was hot.
All that was important was the teen having fun, with each step carrying a bounce in the step, it was clear this boy was happiest could be. He began explaining that he hadn't rode on something like this since he was ten and that he would trip most of the time. Such an odd thing to say, to enjoy tripping, would that be a painful experience? Though he has been inside a few minds that rather find to be the greatest of all sexual desires, such oddities. Maybe Carmen was like that? Maybe he should find out? No, he should not spread his power wide. Last thing he needed was more snacks in the middle of the night from less magic than before. This was all learning experience.
Carmen began walking backwards, as if showing some new found skill. He asked Fax if he had ever been in one before, something that Dax could not quite recall. Nothing seem to particularly standing out as "familiar" but there seemed an air about it that was "familiar". He shook his head as a no before answering with tadbit soft voice, "No, I do not believe, I have. It seems.... 'familiar' like some long lost memory, but none of it really stands out to me."

stand up sing hallelujah There was something strange about what Daxior said. Like a long lost memory? That was interesting way to put things. Maybe he was one of those strangely poetic types? Or just plain weird to the core... Carmen was a bit hung up on it. It didn't really change his perspective of this guy. But it did leave to more questions about him. He bit his lip and nodded.
“Maybe you've seen one on the television? Or like went in one when you were really tiny. Like a toddler or something?”
Carmen spun around once they got close to the fun house. His eyes widened at the sheer size of it. It was around three stories, and rather wide. It wasn't much bigger than the ones he was used to but still. It was marvelous. The line, not so much. Carmen took a place for the both of them and started waiting. You generally didn't see many lines at funhouses. But there were quite a few people around so that probably explained it.
The line moved quickly, and in spurts, due to multiple people going in at once. Maybe the size of it was the reason that there was a line to begin with. From the looks of it the slow turning walkway was the first thing you go through. Those were always fun. when you didn't trip of course. Or end up running on it like a hamster wheel.
Carmen was more partial to the ones that had a walking bridge, as opposed to walking on the rotating part. Not only did it get rid of the possibility of tripping. It messed with one's mind more. It fit better in haunted houses than the usual. But of course, this wasn't a haunted house, it was just a fun house. Maybe the teen was overly nostalgic today. Every other thing was starting to bring to mind things from his past.
Chris would enjoy this no doubt...Maybe even Benny. But he wasn't one for “simple amusements” or whatever he used to say... His words filled his head often when it was quiet. It was frustrating, especially when he was trying to remember someone good...Someone important. Like Chris. Why were those memories always at war? Wait...Wasn't Benny nice as well...Before everything happened?
Carmen started to curl a strand of hair around his finger again, as they got closer to the front of the line. Wouldn't be long now. He needed to figure out something...Anything, to get his mind back on the current situation, and away from the maze.. Those two were nothing alike, this wasn't going to be rerun. He had better luck then that.
“Do you wanna lead or like what? I mean I'm sure we could both walk on to the first part at once, but if one of us trips it might not be the funnest situation.”
He asked curiously, turning to look at Daxior. Reminding himself of what made the two different, in order to try and put his mind at ease. Dax had a nicer disposition. That thing with the slinkies... He was prettier. Not that he found this guy attractive, but his features. They were pretty. He didn't seem to have an agenda, at all... Carmen's expression was somewhere between curiosity and concentration as he stared at him. Waiting for an answer.

The boy explained maybe Dax saw a fun house on tv or as a child, Dax strongly doubt that was the reason. He was fairly certain that it had to do those flashbacks, whatever they were. Though he would not admit this, he just gave a slight laugh, "Yeah, you are probably right."
drawing closer to the entrances there was a long line, lines were just there, nothing really too annoying of obnoxious about them. Why! It even gave him a chance to stand closer to his new buddy, such luck! Watching the boy, probably a little too closely, Dax noticed the boy starting to play with his hair. Is that what somebodies do when they're are lost in thought? Or was it just a sign of impatience? Somebodies were so confusing, maybe he should try to do something?
All the while he was trying to figure out how to make the line more fun, and not be tempted to look into the boy's head, when the boy made a move to speak to him. Instantly Dax was thankful the boy made a move, and he was not required to do so. The boy had asked who should take the lead, that at some point the funhouse would prevent them from staying together. Dax almost had a fearful moment of the teen leaving at first chance, but he recalled the teen having so much fun. Plus why take off now? He quickly shaken all the thoughts away with pure logic, the boy would not run, as to what reason he has of running? He gave a small nervous laugh, again moving his hand to the back of his head playing with his curly blonde hair. "You can if you want, haha, doesn't bother me either way!"
As soon as the words he recalled the flashbacks from before, a small tibit of fear went through him, what if he had one? And the boy saw? Would the boy tell the others? No, if the boy saw he could tell him not to, if it seems the boy lied.. He could always leave the boy, or worst.... No, the boy won't do that. Why would the boy do that? What does he have to gain? How silly of Dax to think such lines, this was a cute little Somebody.

Carmen continued to scoot forward. they were practically at the gate at this point. didn't they need tickets? Daxior had some no doubt, so he'd just have to scoot aside when the time came and stare at his companion expectantly.he nodded at dax's answer.
it felt like someone watching him. closely. it wasn't something he wasn't used to.I'm fact most of his recent life had been under a very watchful eye. hawk was a better fitting name for Benny. there was literally nothing that could get pay him.even the tiniest of facial expressions and body language didn't go unnoticed.unpunished.
this wasn't the same cruel gaze.but it was just as intense.Carmen shifted slightly, his fingers still curing around his hair. just what was so interesting about him, so interesting that daxior was watching him so closely.
"alright. and don't worry, we're not going to end up writing up our anything. just tight hallways and stuff you know?" the teenager glanced over at the nobody, a slight grin on his face.he figured he might as well reassure him and mostly himself...after all, splitting up caused him to lose his last friend, he was going to make sure he didn't lose another.
as they stepped up to the front, he decided that maybe staring at him might not be the best of ideas.did this place even use that sort of system? it was only natural right? But just in case...
"do you have the tickets or whatever so we can get in?"

considering the place used various tokens and tickets, just so happens that Dax had what was needed, though he would probably have to buy more if they went on more than 3 rides. Giving the Ticketmaster the tickets, excitedly he approached closer at the swirling tunnel.
"Together then?" he said excitement in his voice at the various colors and designs, though slight fear of never being in a fun house before. At least that he could completely recall.
Once stepping into the fun house, he lost his balance only temporarily, quickly regaining it to move along to the next room. A room filled with little air balloon people swinging too and from, all brightly colored pink. The movements began to make his head swirl, he began to recall memories of fighting others... In brightly colored pink, with various types of tasers. Instantly sudden fear emotion hit him, causing him to get temporary weak and sickly. This caused him to be hit by one of the balloon things and fall to the ground. He quickly forced himself to get up and hide any of the swirling high harsh emotions inside him. Try to hide any evidence that something was wrong, that he was as normal a somebody as any other.
