far in mist a tower waits, like a merciless tomb

Getting accustomed to the routine, Xegdral rose from his bed and slung his lance onto his shoulder strap. He walked over and marked a new entry into a small journal he had started. This would mark Day 8 since his orientation, and he has made an attempt to keep his thoughts straight with this addition to his routine. He glances back at the other few pages he made over the previous days. Most of them blank, with a few of them containing a paragraph at most. He sighted, attempting to appear exasperated. It took substantial effort on his part to imitate emotions, but it would be necessary in order to properly blend into other worlds. His face returned to a perfectly neutral expression as he looked out to the city again. His reflection in the window stared back at him with a perfectly blank expression. His lance seemed to gleam from the light as he continued to gaze at his image. A knock at his door causes him to turn around and answer. Unbeknownst to him, his reflection does not turn and instead looks at the door with him. It only turns and matches his movements when Xegdral answers the door. A nobody stands outside the door and averts its gaze as the door shifts into the wall. "I have been sent with a message," he intoned, "You are to be sent to a world known as 'Radiant Garden' and make note of the Heartless Population. If you find the population is growing large enough to cause a disturbance, you are to thin their numbers." Xegdral was about to ask more questions, but the Nobody slithered into the darkness of the hallway before anything more could be said. Practicing his exasperated sigh, he simply walked toward the lounge, wondering if anyone else was there before he left for this new world.

It was still relatively early, Xander didn't have much to do just yet, so he was spending his time in the lounge. Slouching low in a chair with a sucker in his mouth, the nobody seemed rather content. He had been hoping that he would finally run into the newest member of the Organization sometime today. He wanted to see this Xegdral with his own eyes. After all, it was also important for them to really meet him if they were to be comrades. It would just be awkward otherwise.
Sure he hadn't quite really gotten to know anyone around here. But he knew them more than this one. Vaguely. Maybe after this he should make more of an effort to get to know everyone better. Or something along those lines. He wasn't too keen on that idea. But it would most definitely come in handy sooner or later. Xander figured he'd just start with this Xegdral. Maybe even shadow him on his first few missions. Just to get his personality pegged.
Xander hadn't spent much time hanging around lately. In fact he had made himself rather scarce. Between spending time with Apollo, and completing his orders, he just didn't feel as though he had the time. It was possible that he came in contact with him without realizing it. But even with that. He wanted to speak with him. Maybe poke fun at him a little. Xander's eyes flicked towards the hallway. Someone was coming. And from the silhouette he could tell it wasn't someone he had met yet. Well then, it looked like things might be happening faster than expected. He pulled his sucker out of his mouth and twirled it.
“So you're the new baby, huh?” He called out to Xegdral, staring towards him with a blank, wide-eyed expression.

Without much to do otherwise, or anywhere to go, Apollo had simply followed the strange person. Some time had passed since first being found by him and he already felt he could relax around the guy. His name was Xander, and he really didn't like it when Apollo would take candy without asking or being given one. Well fine, so he didn't need candy as often as he wanted it, but he sure loved it. Silly Xander. Not that he really cared. Right now they were in what Xander called the lounge room. It was white all over. Not like the darkened colors of the city below the castle. Though everything in this castle was white. Why? He would probably never know. Mostly because he didn't ever care. Anyway, Xander was laying in one of the couches in the room, just chilling out and Apollo was sitting behind the couch with a sucker in his mouth (that Xander had given to him) with his feet on the floor and his knees up next to his face. He wasn't afraid of anything. Nah... That wasn't why he was sitting behind the couch rather then in front of it. This was more of a defense tactic to keep anyone from taking his sucker away. Like that one time... That was horrible. He'd gotten into so much trouble with Xander. No candy for two days. Well... Served the other guy right for trying to take his candy. Suckers were the easiest to take away because of the stick things that held them. So when he got suckers, he tried to hide so that he didn't get into trouble again. When the door opened, Apollo perked up. Curious, he abandoned his sitting position and peeked up from behind the couch at the door with an interested expression in his eyes. The sucker still in his mouth. He glanced down at Xander expectantly as he spoke then back up at the newcomer again to see its answer. tags: you • notes: stuff [googlefont="VT323"][googlefont="Oswald"]

"So, you're the new baby, huh?" The sudden voice jolted Xegdral from his thoughts as he scanned the lounge for the source. His eyes fell onto a rather thin man slouching in a chair, staring at him with wide red and black eyes. He was twirling something in his hand, it appeared to be a sucker, before putting it back in his mouth. Another figure poked its head up from behind the couch, also observing him with wide eyes, but this one had white and black eyes instead. They both watched him, expectantly, as he made his way into the lounge. He readjusted the lance on his shoulder as he replied to the one on the couch, "I suppose you could say that." Xegdral walked over to them and extended his hand. He recalled this is how people typically greet each other, and if these were Organization Members, as well as his seniors, then he supposed starting off on the correct note was essential. Although he could no longer feel it, one of the most vivid emotions he could recall was the feeling of loyalty. If what he was told is true, then establishing camaraderie, or at least an approximation of it, amongst the members of the Organization is important. "My name is Xegdral. It would be a pleasure to meet you."

“I'm surprised we haven't met already.” Xander smiled at Xegdral. He wasn't all that surprised at all, but it felt like the right thing to say. So this one has manners huh? Good. He didn't really like the ones that had an attitude right off the bat. Any time after the first meeting, they could get as bratty as they wanted. It was just if Xander was going to try and be somewhat pleasant, they could as well. After all, it was only fair.
He put the sucker back into his mouth. Xegdral wasn't necessarily what he was expecting appearance wise. Knowing only his name, Xander had built up what he thought his appearance might be in his mind. It may or may not have ended up being a macho looking chick. It wasn't disappointing that Xegdral wasn't that of course. Not in the least bit. In fact, he seemed rather impressive as is. Hopefully, he'll still be just as impressive out on his mission.
He glanced back at Apollo before getting up out of his chair and taking Xegdral's hand in a vice like grip. He shook it hard and fast.
“I'm Xander. And the pleasure's all mine.” Still having not released the newbie's hand, the dark haired nobody turned his attention to Apollo. He pointed at the heartless with his free hand and looked back at Xegdral.
“This is Apollo. I wouldn't touch him if you value your hands.” It may have been a bit of an overstatement. However, he said it in a dead serious voice. It was never a pleasant situation when someone touched Apollo. Not for anyone involved. It wasn't fun the last time, and it definitely wasn't going to be fun any time after that. And all in all, it was better to be safe than sorry. He let go of him, and took his sucker out of his mouth again.
“I heard you already have a mission~.” He said, there was a hint of mischief in his voice as he twirled the sucker between his thumb and index finger.

"You must be well informed then." Xegdral replied as he attempted a smirk. Xander, as he was apparently called, did seem to either know already, or it was a good guess. In either case, there was no point in hiding this information. "I'm to head out to Radiant Garden and survey the Heartless. If their numbers are large enough to cause trouble, I am to 'thin the heard,' so to speak." Gazing over at Apollo, Xegdral took note of its apparent issues with being touched. He also observed that Apollo didn't... feel like a Nobody. It seemed too energetic. If it was as violent as described, it could probably be a Heartless. Deciding to remain wary, Xegdral brought his gaze back to Xander. "If you wish to accompany me, then be my guest. If I am to fight the Heartless, backup would be appreciated, since they would be in large numbers. If not, then we can simply..." Xegdral paused, deciding how best to phrase it, "Talk to each other. I suppose I could use a break from my routine." Xegdral tried his best to imitate a smile as he awaited Xander's response. It seemed his practice was paying off, and it may be easier than he thought to fully imitate emotion. He still needed to consciously think about it, but, in the moment, it seemed to have taken less effort. His face returned to its expressionless form when he noticed something glinting in the corner of his eye. Looking towards the window, he saw nothing but the city's lights, the dark void of the sky, and the faint reflection of the room. His lance seemed to practically shine in the reflection, but he passed this off as a trick of the (surprisingly reflective) white material they used for the room and the angle his eyes were at. He glanced down to his right hand as he tried to recall that feeling when he first summoned a corridor of darkness. Almost as in response, darkness seemed to briefly and faintly seep from his gloved hand in a small puff of black esscence, gone just as quickly as it had arrived. He snapped his gaze back up to Xander's as the other spoke.

Apollo watched quite curiously as the two of them spoke to each other. Not that he was particularly intrigued by the words themselves, but it was good to know another. Despite not being with Xander very long, Apollo felt like he knew the man better then the man knew any of the other organization members. Simply because he spent a lot of his time watching Xander and the other members they ran into. Apollo didn't wonder off much, mainly because he enjoyed the company of Xander. Anyway, watching the movements of this Xegdral would bring plenty of clues as to who this person was. Especially the expressions he tried to pull off. When Xegdral looked at him he could see the skepticism in his eyes and knew that Apollo himself would have to be wary of this new person. Heartless or not, Apollo was not as stupid as he appeared to be. Apollo would keep watch on this one. Then something caught in the corner of his eye. He snapped his head away from the conversation and saw a reflection in the window that gazed out into the city below. His eyes widened at the movement in the window. What? What? What? He slipped down from the top of the couch back to sitting behind it. First, he saw his own reflection, it did exactly as he did. And so did the reflection of Xander. The only one that wasn't doing what it was supposed to was Xegdral's reflection. No, it kept making strange expressions at Apollo. As if it was trying to get Apollo's attention. Apollo blinked and cocked his head in confusion. What? While still on the floor behind the couch, Apollo inched toward the window, feeling strangely offended by some of the faces it was making at him. Not that Apollo looked offended. He didn't show expression much. Getting close to the window he looked up at it like an irritated cat. Why was it doing that? What had he ever done to Xegdral's reflection? Or Xegdral himself? Perhaps it was trying to protect its "master?" Finally getting quite irritated with it making funny faces at him, Apollo turned around from where he was sitting and slipped over to Xander's side to tug at his garment and glare over at the window. He didn't know how to stop it, but he knew that Xander wouldn't appreciate it if he destroyed the window. [googlefont="VT323"][googlefont="Oswald"]

❝ | Some things, once you've loved them, become yours forever. And if you try to let them go... They only circle back and return to you. They become part of who you are... ...or they destroy you. | ❞ |
“I try to be.” Xander let out a small laugh. He really just, eavesdropped a lot. And by a lot, a hell of a lot more than he should. “Is that so?” So they have him out doing grunt work from the sound of it. There was no shame in that. Especially for a newer member. It also would make it much easier for Xander and Apollo both to follow along. The nobody wasn't planning on leaving him behind this time. There was really no need to anymore. Xander had figured out enough of his personality, and there was no chance of Apollo possibly running away. So why should he keep him locked up? It was nicer to have the company anyways.
Plus, a change of scenery might do some good. Being in this blank white place could drive someone crazy after a while.
“I was actually planning on following along to begin with, in case there was any trouble.” He said in a rather amused tone. He wasn't planning on getting his hands dirty unless the situation ended up being dire. A few too many heartless shouldn't be more than a pain in the rear though. Though he was planning on possibly talking Xegdral's ear off. Learn more about him and all that. Peg what little of a personality he seems to have. Maybe that thought was a bit cruel...
Xander felt the tugging on his cloak, he immediately looked down at Apollo with a concerned look. “What?” He followed his gaze to the window and furrowed his eyebrows. There wasn't anything out there. Just their reflections. Wait. Did Xegdral's just? He raised an eyebrow, then proceeded to look from the reflection to Xegdral , and back again. Why wasn't it moving with him...In fact it seemed to have a mind of its own. That definitely wasn't normal. So is that what his power is?
“Just... try and ignore it for now.” Xander said quietly. He really didn't need Apollo busting the window over something trivial like this. That might actually get him into more hot water than he needed right now. It was probably a hard thing for him to ignore, and understandably so. He just needed him to try for a brief moment. So he can deal with it.
“Oii.” He turned his attention back to Xegdral. His voice low and cold. “Think you can control your immature reflection before we lose a window.”

“It doesn't move with you. Completely, at least. In fact it seems to move on it's own accord.” Xander looked somewhat annoyed, and crossed his arms. How could someone not know their reflection did that. Or was he playing at something? No, he was new. He probably didn't even realize most of his weird powers himself. Xander could recall a time when he was like that. New to the ropes, accidentally hitting one of the older members with his powers. It wasn't a good day, at all. Funny, looking back on it. But if he could feel back then, it would have been all out fear.
“It's really not all that it's cracked up to be.” Xander said with a laugh. It wasn't one of his favourite worlds. The nobody had spent too much time there, and had mostly grown bored of it. Xegdral was right though, they should get going. It would also be best to get away from the reflection before Apollo reached his breaking point. The older nobody pulled his sunglasses out of his pocket and put them on, following Xegdral into the void. He glanced back and beckoned Apollo to come with them. Hopefully the heartless wouldn't be too wary of traveling like this. Xander would have taken his hand, but he knew better than to do that. He knew what that might cause.
They got there rather quickly. Xander whistled as he stepped out into Radiant Garden. It was the same as usual. “What do you two think?” He asked putting his sunglasses away. Even though, he needed them more now than before. In fact, there really was no reason for him to put them on in the first place. It was just something he liked to do. His black and red eyes scanned their surroundings.

“Just... try and ignore it for now.” Apollo furrowed his eyebrows. Ignore it? How could he ignore it when it kept moving? He continued to make glances at it, but stayed by the side of Xander as the two of them spoke for a short couple of moments. He was beginning to get very antsy by the time the portal to the Corridors of Darkness was opened. He jumped very slightly, as he still wasn't used to the dark smoke coming out of no where the way it did. Then Xegdral stepped inside of it. He'd seen this before. Xander had used it sometimes and other members would use it when they needed to leave. But Apollo had never followed before. This time when it was Xander's turn to step into the portal he turned around and beckoned to Apollo to follow him. Something told him that he should follow, but it was still strange to be stepping into the darkness the way he did. Something seemed very odd about it. He followed quickly anyway and came into the swirl of colors that was the Corridors of Darkness. With wide, curious eyes Apollo couldn't help but go to every other heartless and thing he saw and touch them. And though he didn't directly follow the two through the darkness, neither of them had to beckon him along as he would simply follow them shortly after being distracted. He also became very interested when they finally stepped out into what was known as Radiant Gardens. Everything was so different. Everything was so interesting. And he simply couldn't help but drop himself down into a crouch beside his friend and peer at everything skeptically. This was a new world. He was not safe here. He was not a friend here. Here they would probably try to kill him. Here they could possibly want to take him down. He would be by Xander's side and protect him if he so needed to. He would be here by the safety of the only person who had ever been kind to him. His muscles seemed calm, but his eyes were constantly on the move searching the area and he followed closely by Xander's side. [googlefont="VT323"][googlefont="Oswald"]

Walking through the dark corridor, Xegdral couldn't help but ponder Xander's words about his reflection. He had never really noticed anything about it before, but he also had no reason to believe that Xander would lie to him. Taking this into account, Xegdral would try to keep an eye on his reflection. As the corridor opened at the other end, bright light seared Xegdral's eyes momentarily as they adjusted. Bringing his hand up to shield them, he took in the environment. What he saw as what appeared to be a central area, with a sunken layer that contained a large fountain. The sky was bright, and there didn't appear to be signs of anyone present besides the three new arrivals. One direction led towards a castle, and another appeared to lead beyond a large wall, with two remaining directions leading to different parts of the area. Xegdral took everything in and tried to think of where the heartless may be hiding, before recalling that Xander seemed to know about Radient Garden. "Excuse me, Xander, but you seemed to have some knowledge of this world. Would you have any knowledge as to where the heartless may be hiding?"

Be careful, you are not inwonderland --Xander tapped his chin thoughtfully. He did come around Radiant Garden often, though he generally didn't pay too much attention to the heartless. There were quite a few of them, sometimes that was an understatement. They were pretty much everywhere, and Xander couldn't be bothered to really look into their source. Though he did have an idea. The nobody glanced down at Apollo before responding to Xegdral. The heartless didn't seem scared of this place. But there was no doubt in Xander's mind that he was wary. Who wasn't in a new place? It wasn't a bad thing to be either. It was nice to have an extra pair of eyes looking for danger. Heaven knows Xander wasn't paying too much attention to their surroundings. Though he made it through the corridor with no problems. And that deserved a reward. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a brightly wrapped hard candy. He cleared his throat and dangled the candy next to Apollo. As he waited for him to take it, Xander turned his attention back to Xegdral's question. “They're in almost every corner around here. I've only come across large numbers in the darker alleyways... I never really looked into where the bigger nests could be.” He said with a shrug. It probably wasn't very helpful, but it was better than nothing. Besides, this was Xegdral's mission. He should be able to find said heartless easy enough. If not Xander may have to guide the newbie more. That would be the most annoying scenario. His black eyes scanned the area one more time. There was bound to be some sort of movement in the corners. ■Xegdral, APOLLO■280■getting my muse back, sorry for possbile crummy-ness

LETS PAINT IT RED TO FIT IN. At the sound of Xander's cleared throat Apollo glanced up at him, dreading to take his eyes off of the world around him. But at the sight of candy his eyes brightened and he took it. Mmmmn... candy. He unwrapped it easily and tossed the plastic behind him. It was what Xander did after all. it had to be an ohkay thing to do right? Then he put the piece of candy in his mouth and began to savor it. The two men began talking again. Something about heartless. Heartless? Thats what he was right? So like... that little thing over there? As he sucked on his hard candy he caught site of a big pair of yellow eyes. He blinked and began to crawl in its direction, curious. Slowly. Slowly. But the little thing didn't seem frightened of him. It may have been wary of him. But certainly not frightened. Apollo slipped up to it and began poking it's black antennas. With a flick of his hand the heartless suddenly flinched and slipped into the ground. Then he looked up and saw another heartless. This one was bigger. Almost as big as himself. And a lot more scary. Apollo's eyes widened and he backed up falling to his bum against Xander's leg. The candy in his mouth was nearly gone by now. it was good because he probably would have chocked on it. Instantly his body went into defensive mode. Dark eyes, dangerous black smoke drifting off his body. MADE BY VEL OF GS
